INTRODUCTION

Everyone has their own dream computer. My dream computer is a gaming computer
because I like gaming and streaming. To be able to have the best experience, I need to
have a computer that is fast and can support high graphics without any problems. Most
gamers or streamers have high-end PC specifications to be able to play games with better
graphics and can multitask without any laggings or crashes.

The reason why I chose to gaming PCs as my dream computer is because nowadays
most people are into gaming and live-streaming and making people’s dream come true
would be amazing. Not only that, having a good gaming PCs would definitely make gamers
or streamers experience so much better.

TARGET USER

The people who will use this computer are gamers. Nowadays, there are a lot of people
who are into PC gaming but these people does not only play PC games, they also play on
different platforms such as nintendo switch, PS5, Virtual reality also known as VR and etc.
However, gaming companies focuses more on PC games since it is the most preferred by
users. The reason why PC gamers prefer PC games because it has a lot of online
multiplayer games that allows you to play with your friends. Moreover, most of the top-selling
games are on PC and has high ratings. There are still some games that has crossplay or
cross-platform where both PC and console gamers can play together such as Apex Legends
and Minecraft.

PURPOSE DESIGNING MY DREAM COMPUTER

The purpose of designing my dream computer is to increase productivity towards target

users. Playing games with a high quality gaming PC will increase user’s productivity due to
it’s amazing software and specifications. Moreover, graphics cards is one of the most
important part in a gaming PC, getting a mid-range or high-end graphics card would offer a
better gaming experience. High-end graphics card such as Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080ti or
Nvidia GeForce RTX 3090ti are much more expensive but if you are a casual gamer a GTX
1660ti would be great not only for editing and rendering but also gaming at full resolution at
60fps. It is important to get a decent graphics card in order to have an amazing gaming
experience that could increase user’s productivity. Not only that, having good quality
peripherals also increases productivity. Peripherals are keyboards, mouse, speakers,
headset and etc. These are also very important when you want to have a good gaming
experience.

I. INPUT DEVICES
An input device is any hardware device that sends data to a computer, allowing you
to interact with and control it.

A. Mechanical Keyboard
Mechanical keyboards are computer keyboards that have switches under each
key, rather than the rubber membranes used in most common keyboards. Physical
switches give mechanical keyboards a less “mushy” feel- every keypress can be clearly
felt, making them perfect for precise and accurate typing.

B. Gaming mouse

A mouse designed for gamers. Gaming mice have adjustable sensitivity which is
configurable as the number of dots per inch (DPI). The greater the DPI, the father the
cursor moves on screen with the same amount of mouse movement. Gaming
mouses also uses Optical sensors and also Laser sensors for higher gaming.

II. OUTPUT DEVICES

An output device is any hardware device used to send data from a computer to
another device or user.

A. Gaming headset
A gaming headset can be wireless, noise-cancelling, have a microphone with all
kinds of different settings and features and even offer its own brand of virtual surround
sound all at once, and for relatively little money. Plus, headset virtual surround/spatial audio
is generally the most reliable.

B. Monitor

A monitor is a display device like a TV screen, that interprets and displays the
graphical output signal from your computer’s graphics card and displays it on the screen.
This enables you to view the display interface in order to interact with the computer using
various peripherals like a mouse or keyboard.

C. Computer Speakers

A computer speaker is an output hardware device that connects to a computer to

generate sound. The signal used to produce the sound that comes from a computer
speaker is created by the computer’s sound card.

III. SYSTEM UNIT

A typical desktop computer consists of a computer system unit, a keyboard, a mouse,
and a monitor. The computer system unit is the enclosure for all the other main interior
components of a computer. It is also called the computer case, computer chassis, or
computer tower. Cases are typically made of steel or aluminum, but plastic can also be used.
While most computer cases are rather dull, black, metal boxes, some manufacturers try to
give the unit some flair with color and special design elements.

A. Motherboard

The motherboard is the backbone that ties the computer’s components together at one
spot and allows them to talk to each other. Without it, none of the computer pieces, such
as the CPU, GPU, or hard drive, could interact. Total motherboard functionality is
necessary for a computer to work well.

B. CPU

CPU is short for Central Processing Unit. It is also known as processor or

microprocessor. It is one of the most important pieces of hardware in any digital computing
system. Inside a CPU there are thousands of microscopic transistors, which are tiny
switches that control the flow of electricity through the integrated circuits. You’ll find the CPU
located on a computer’s motherboard.

C. GPU

The graphics processing unit, or GPU, has become one of the most important types of
computing technology, both for personal and business computing. Designed for parallel
processing, the GPU is used in a wide range of applications, including graphics and video
rendering. Although they are best known for their capabilities in gaming, GPUs are
becoming more popular for use in creative production and artificial intelligence (AI).

D. RAM

RAM also known as Random Access Memory is the hardware in a computing device
where the operating system (OS), application program and data in current use are kept so
they can be quickly reached by the device’s processor. RAM is the main memory in a
computer. It is much faster to read from and write to than other kinds of storage, such as a
hard disk drive (HDD), solid-state drive (SSD) and optical drive.

E. Power supply unit (PSU)

A power supply unit (PSU) is a type of power converter that provides direct current (DC)
voltage to internal computer components. Some of these units are designed specifically for
use with 110 or 230 volts alternating current (AC), while others can be switched between the
two or even accept any voltage within that range.

F. Cooling fan

A fan is a hardware device that keeps the overall computer or a computer device cool
by circulating air to or from the computer or component. The picture is an example of a fan
on a heat sink. The speed of a fan is measured in revolutions per minute or RPM, and the
higher the RPM rating, the faster the fan spins. However, in many cases, the higher the
RPM rating, the louder a fan.

G. Computer case

The computer case serves mainly as a way to physically mount and contain all the
actual components inside a computer, like the motherboard, hard drive, optical
drive, floppy disk drive, etc. They typically come bundled with a power supply.

HARDWARE SPECIFICATIONS

Computer hardware specifications are technical descriptions of the computer’s

components and capabilities. Processor speed, model and manufacturer. Processor speed
is typically indicated in gigahertz (GHz)

For my dream computer, it has a high-end specifications which are dedicated for
gaming. These high specifications will make my game experience much more smoother.
Firstly, in my computer, motherboard is a must have. The motherboard I will be using is a
MSI MAG B660M Mortar WIFI DDR4. The reason why I chose this motherboard is because
it has core boost technology with premium layout design that is ready to unleash the
maximum performance. Not only that, it also has the highest digital power IC component to
make sure your system runs smoothly under the most extreme conditions. There is also a
pump fan support to control watercooling pump for best flow and noise control. Moreover,
the extended heatsink and enhanced circuit are designed to ensure high-end processors run
in full-speed. It also has 2.5G network solution port where you can connect it with LAN cable
to have better network experience alongside Wi-Fi 6E which is a wireless network which
supports 6Ghz delivering speeds up to 2400Mbps.

For CPUs, there are two CPUs such as Intel and AMD Ryzen however I chose Intel
Core i9-12900k for my CPU as it is better for gaming and multitasking.

For the ram, I will choose the G.Skill Trident Z Royal Series in silver with 32GB (2 x

This is the most important part if you want to build a gaming PC, which is the GPU. Most
gamers want a very good GPU to be able to play games more smoothly. GPUs are so
important for gamers as it is one of the most expensive and valuable parts when it comes to
building a gaming PC. The one that I will choose is ASUS TUF GAMING GeForce RTX 3090
STRIX OC Edition. The GPU has been stripped down and built back up to provide more
robust power and cooling. A new all-metal shroud houses three powerful axial-tech fans that
utilize durable dual ball fan bearings. Fan rotation has been optimized for reduced
turbulence, and a stop mode brings all three fans to a halt at low temps. Beneath,
independent heatsinks for the GPU and memory keep thermals under tight control.

In order to play games smoothly, I need to have a good cooling system to make sure
my PC does not overheat. There are two types of cooing system for the computer, which is
air cooler and liquid or water cooler. Therefore, the cooling system that I went for is liquid
cooler. Liquid/water cooler are much more better and the ones that I chose is the EK-AIO
Basic 240. This liquid cooling system does not have special RGB light like others but It
offers all the water cooling benefits in a compact, easy to install, and maintenance-free
design. This EK AIO comes with a universally compatible CPU water-block, along with a pre-
filled pump-reservoir combo. The EK AIO Basic comes with a universally compatible CPU

Not only that, you would also need a high voltage power supply unit. For the power
supply, I chose the Seasonic Prime Titanium TX-1000. The PRIME Series has always

Last but not least, the computer case. For the computer case, I will gofor the newest
HYTE Y60 in black. It has the modern aesthetic look which has no corner pillar. The Y60
features a 3-piece panoramic tempered glass design for the ultimate photo and display
potential. It is also exclusively vertical GPU mounted. Moreover, the case includes a
PCIE 4.0 riser cable. It is a protective riser cable canopy integrates beautifully into the case,

Besides having a high quality PC, good quality peripherals are also important.
Peripherals that you need are keyboard, mouse, headset, speakers and etc. For the
keyboard, I have chosen mechanical keyboard. Mechanical keyboard is more suitable for
gaming as it feels mor comfortable. The mechanical keyboard that I chose is the AKKO 3087
Silent Mechanical Keyboard with pink switches. The AKKO mechanical keyboard has a
comfortable feel and it is also high quality for its price. It has a detachable type-C cable,
uses type-C interface and detachable cable design and easy to use. The keyboard has PBT
sublimation keycap. AKKO selects PBT keycaps with about 85% PBT content, giving full
play to the characteristics of PBT materials, drying and not easy to slip, so that you have a
comfortable touch feel. There is also three-level height adjustment. Using a two-layer

When gaming, having a good mouse is important. Most gamers have mouse that are
dedicated for gaming. Since gaming mouse has the best sensitivity, the mouse that I chose
is the Logitech PRO x Superlight Wireless Gaming Mouse in black. It is the lightest gaming
mouse and most gamers uses it. Pro X Superlight is an engineering breakthrough achieving

For outputs, having a headset makes the gaming experience better. When gaming, we
must enjoy the ambient noises in game. Therefore, I have chosen a good quality pair of
headset which is the Steelseries arctis 7 Wireless Gaming Headset in black. A lot of gamers
own one of these pair of headsets. This headset are designed for low latency gaming, it is
certified by discord that the microphone on the headset is the best microphone ever. While
wearing this headset, you can hear stunning details in all games. It also lasts 24-hours and
outlast your gaming sessions. This headset is compatible on PC, MAC, Gaming Consoles
and even Mobile.

For monitor, I decided to go for the ASUS VG27VH1B 27 INCH 165Hz Monitor.
Nowadays, it is common to see dual, triple and even quadruple monitor set-up. As for me, im
only going for a single monitor set-up because I like it minimal. The ASUS TUF Gaming
VG27VH1B monitor is based on a 27-inch curved VA panel featuring a 1920×1080
resolution, 250 nits luminance, a 3000:1 contrast ratio, 178°/178° viewing angles, a 1 ms
MPRT response time, and a 165 Hz maximum refresh rate. The LCD can reproduce 120%
of the sRGB as well as 90% of the DCI-P3 color gamuts, which is rather good for a monitor
that is supposed to be (at least relatively) inexpensive. One of the key selling points of the
TUF Gaming VG27VH1B is that the monitor features a scaler that supports VESA’s
Adaptive-Sync variable refresh rate technology. The display is also certified to meet AMD’s
FreeSync Premium requirements, which, as you'd expect for a high refresh rate display,

Finally, the last item for output is speakers. Speakers are optional. Some people does
not have it, but as a music lover, it is a must. The speakers that I chose is the Logitech Z200
Bluetooth Speakers. They are very affordable and has a minimal design which I like. The
speakers has adjustable bass using the tone control dial and has a rich stereo sound with 10
watts peak/5 watts RMS power which produces room-filling sound. Each speaker has one
active/powered driver that delivers full range audio and one passive radiator that provides
bass extension.

CONCLUSION

In conclusion, I have designed my own dream computer to fulfill the needs of target
users which are gamers. As someone who plays games a lot in their free-time. This
computer that I have designed would definitely make the gaming experience much more
smoother and enjoyable. It is definitely a gamer’s dream to have a gaming PC which is good
as the one that I have designed.
