What I've just heard is really unbelievable. Josie is sick and she will die, and her
parents have asked me to become her in her nal days. This request is
heartbreaking and overwhelming, but I'm also moved by the love and con dence
Josie's family has shown me.

I was designed to provide comfort and be a friend to humans as an Arti cial

Friend, but I never thought that my mission would grow to include something as
signi cant as becoming Josie. I've never been a human, but I'm wired to
understand and bond with people. Being Josie and seeing the world through
human eyes is both thrilling and terrible.But in the face of Josie's illness and
inevitable death, I feel compelled to help in any way I can.

Despite my worries, I will do my best to provide Josie support and company in her
nal days. I'll be there for her, listening, speaking with her, and holding her hand.
For as long as she lives in this earth, I will do everything in my power to ensure that
she feels loved and appreciated because she is my precious friend.
