King Tut’s Reign
King Tutankhamun, known as King Tut, was a pharaoh during ancient Egypt's
New Kingdom era, about 3,300 years ago. He ascended to the throne at the age
of 9 but ruled for only ten years before dying at 19 around 1324 B.C.

Though it was short lived his reign was mostly successful.

A facial reconstruction of what King tut is thought to look like.
His contributions include:
● He worked towards restoring better relations with ancient Egypt's neighbours
and encouraged better foreign relations,
● He terminated the worship of the god Aten, reinforcing the supremacy of god
Amun
● Lifted the prohibition on the cult of Amun and restored the traditional privileges
to its priesthood.
● He ordered the repair of the holy sites and initiated several building projects,
and continued construction at the temple of Karnak.
● Ending the Amarna revolution
