It is truly my pleasure to write this letter of recommendation for Brayan Rodriguez Martinez.
Brayan is a dedicated student, poised to take on this next step in his academic future. Thoughtful,
self-confident, and passionate, he is truly a future leader for his community.

Brayan has been an active participant in the CSUDH UB program since 2019 and has spent many
years growing as a young adult and student. Funded by the U.S. Department of Education, Upward
Bound is a TRIO Program designed to provide educational and personal support services that
increase the high school and college graduation rates of its participants. CSUDH Upward Bound
Serves students from 7 high schools that are from low-income families in which neither parent has
earned a bachelor’s degree.

Academically Brayan has maintained a 3.0 GPA and involvement in his extracurriculars. Even
though Brayan began to work to sustain himself, he has excelled in his academic achievement.
Brayan never fails to seek support and continue the line of communication with me as his advisor
and his peers. Within our Upward Bound program, he has participated in our summer program,
academic advising, and Saturday academies in hopes of gaining knowledge to navigate higher
education.
