Why the school should change its menu

Thesis:

The school should change its food to something the students enjoy more and is nutritionally complete.

3 Arguments:

1. 80% of the students dislike the current food.

2. The school food is does not have the necessary nutrient our body needs.

3. Eating well improves cognitive skills.

Currently, what we usually eat is: rice; curry; chicken and a cold, often burnt, fried egg. The food is also
covered in grease, which may cause bloating, stomach pain, diarrhea, impairment to your gut micro
biome, weight gain and obesity, increase risk of heart disease and stroke, raise risk of diabetes, cause
acne and impair brain function.

The school should switch to food that are healthier and more liked by students, I have already given
three arguments on why this should be done. The most important of these three is the fact that eating
well improves cognitive skills, which are key to learning. Which is what we come here to do.

Doing this will boost the energy of students and they may even look forward to going to school if they
enjoy a certain food enough, while food they dislike may cause them to not want to come to school and
distract them from learning and focusing on class. All in all the benefits of upgrading the current menu
outweigh the downsides, if there are any.

I have experience in how better food helps improve focus, as for a term I ate food from home and had
an easier time absorbing knowledge and my grades were high with a high score each time. However
when I ate school food my grades dropped, this is how I know that better food helps you learn.

The school could achieve this by first finding possible foods which are healthy and they can both cook
and acquire, then asking students to pick which ones they find appetizing, with a survey given out by
teachers every few months or maybe each term, so there is variety in what they eat. Then pick out the
most well liked foods and serve them in the cafeteria.
