Angiography involves injecting a radio-opaque contrast agent into the blood vessels and using X-ray-based fluoroscopy to see inside the vessels. Digital subtraction angiography improves upon conventional angiography by digitally subtracting pre-injection background images from post-injection images, enhancing visualization of the vasculature and blood flow.
