SURVEY OF THE PHILIPPINE LITERATURE IN ENGLISH
MIDTERM PROJECT

1. What is the 21st Century Philippine Literature all about?

2. Who is the first Filipino Literature?

3. What makes the Philippine Literature unique?
 Philippine Literature was unique for having its several works written and published in many
languages and genres. Filipino writers and authors infused those languages with a particular
voice, techniques, styles that was peculiar to our archipelago and reflects our own context. It
allows us to unleash or uncover the past that has happened in our country.

4. How would you describe Philippine Literature?

 I would describe Philippine Literature as a mirror and reflection of life of all Filipino people. It
encompasses a varied range of works which are based on traditional folktales that were passed
down from generation to generation originally through oral tradition, real-life experiences, and
sociopolitical histories. Moreover, it continues to evolve and reflects cultural diversity, personal
experiences, other societal issues or conceLDrns and the broader human condition.
