Molar Problems: Basic Conversions

Show your conversion factor in the box. Solve using Factor Label (aka Dimensional Analysis) showing all
work. Follow the example/directions shown in the box.
You will need a Periodic Table!

1) 511 g MgF2= ? mol 1. Find the fact by getting the Molar Mass
(adding Mg + F + F).
1 mol MgF2=62g 2. Start the problem with the info you are given
511 g . 1 mol = 8.24 g 3. Multiply it by a fact made from the info in the
62g box. Make sure the unit you start with is in
the denominator of the fraction!
4. Cancel the units and solve by multiplying or
dividing.
