Calling About Pensions

Hello Ana,
I told you today was ‘Gap day today’-I wanted to say you were wearing one of your favorite Gap
sweaters today.

Our discussion today continue with our session from Tuesday, this time continuing with pensions
with the resource ‘Calling About Pensions’. First you told me about the pension system in Spain.
It sounds somewhat similar to the system in the US. You told me about the minimum salary.

Instead of saying ‘local’ when talking about a business, you should say ‘place/space’. Your
cousin is an ‘entrepreneur’. ‘Cotizar’ is ‘contribute’ in English. For ‘despedir’ we have the
words ‘fire’ or ‘let you go’.

The first mistake we corrected was ‘comfortable’ which is pronounced ‘cumf-tur-bull’ and not
‘come-fort-able’. Your cousin has a ‘hostel’ (pronounced ‘hos-tul’). You mentioned ‘middle
social’ when talking about economic status-you should use ‘middle class’.
