4.1) Draw the four kinds of feedback using the blocks as shown in the
manual

4.2) Fill in the following table(Literature)!

Feedback Type Input Resistance Output Resistance
SS-Feedback Ri*(1+A*β)-increases Ro*(1+A*β)-increases
SP-feedback Ri*(1+A*β)-increases Ro/(1+A*β)-decreases
PS-feedback Ri/(1+A*β)-decreases Ro*(1+A*β)-increases
PP-feedback Ri/(1+A*β)-decreases Ro/(1+A*β)-decreases

4.3) Describe briefly the advantages and disadvantages of feedback!

Advantages Disadvantages
Improves stability gain of the Can reduce gain

amplifiers.
Input resistance can be Has an increased output gain
increased by selective for current series and
configurations current shunt feedback
amplifiers
Similarly, output resistance Increase noise and distortion
can be decreased. by positive feedback
Reduces noise and distortion
by negative feedback
4.4) What types of feedback amplifiers are used in fig 6. (with and
without C4) and fig 7

Fig 9: SP-without C4 , but there’s no feedback element with C4 in place.

Fig 10:PS-Topology with C4 in place, and additional SP feedback without
C4 in place.

4.5) Calculate the approximate values of Asp for Rf = 0 ohm, 500ohm,

1kohm, 10kohm, and 100Kohm.
Av of network of fig 10 is given as Aps=-
(Rf/(Rc+Rf))*Rc/re
But, without Rf (Rf=0), Av=-Rc/re
(12V-0.7V)/Rc=Ib=Ie=11.3/4.7k=2.4mA
So, re=0.7V/2.4mA=291ohm
Av=-Rc/re=-4.7kohm/291ohm=16.15
When Rf=500ohm, Aps=-(500/5200)*4700/291=1.553.
