BEST FIGHT

1. Blade II
Two stunt men fight on narrow scaffolding, using martial arts techniques and small
weapons. Includes a fall off the scaffolding and ends in a dramatic sword fight on the
ground.

2. Die Another Day


Two stunt men fight using swords throughout a palace. Fight includes the use of
different swords starting with epees and progresses to samurai and broad swords showing
the different application for each weapon.

3. Gangs of New York


Large gang fight in the snowy streets of New York. Stunt men use clubs, knives, swords
and other weapons.

4. Half Past Dead


Nia Peeples character fights Ja Rule’s character in a basement hallway. Kickboxing and
martial arts techniques are used and stunt performers are pushed against the hallway
walls, hard bumps are used in this choreographed fight.

5. Spiderman
Final fight between the Green Goblin and Spiderman in a deserted garden and building.
Spiderman takes several hits and a brick wall falls on the Green Goblin.

BEST FIRE

1. Red Dragon
Stunt man is strapped to a wheelchair with his hands tied to the arm rests. He is then lit
on fire for a full body burn and rides the wheelchair down the city street.

WINNER (TIE)
2. We Were Soldiers
Large airplanes drop bombs on a battle field, setting the field on fire. Viet Cong are
engulfed in fire and stunt men perform full fire burns. Bombs continue to drop as stunt
men emerge from large explosions.

3. We Were Soldiers
Large bomb is ignited and two soldiers are caught in its flames. Two stunt men perform
full body burns, while other soldiers shield themselves from the blast.

4. Windtalkers
Soldier wearing a flame throwing backpack is hit by a bullet and explodes into a ball of
fire. The stunt man performs a full body burn and walks around completely surrounded
by the fire. Stunt man falls to the ground and crawls on hands and knees completely
engulfed in flames until he is shot.

5. Windtalkers
Soldiers set a pill box on fire during battle and two stunt men come running out of the
box, completely engulfed in flames.

BEST HIGH WORK

1. Ballistic: Ecks vs. Sever


Sniper is shot off a building and falls from the roof of the building, landing on the top of
a car parked below. The fall follows the stunt man in one continuous shot from the top of
the building until his landing.

2. Half Past Dead


Prison guard falls off a prison wall. The stunt man’s fall is showing in one continuous
shot.

3. I Spy
Two men are tackled off the side of a building and crash through the top of a tent. One
stunt man falls forward and the other falls backward. The tent is filled with boxes of fruit
and the stunt men land in the boxes.

4. Minority Report
Stunt man is chased by other men in flying backpacks. Stuntman drops off a ladder, does
an air to air hookup with a stunt man in a backpack. The two stuntmen then go through an
air ventilation tube and crash through an apartment complex, breaking through ceilings,
floors and windows.

5. Windtalkers
A sniper is shot out of a tree and falls toward the ground. On the way down, the stunt
man hits branches and bounces around the tree, getting caught in rope. The stunt man’s
legs get caught in the rope and his fall ends as he dangles from the tree.

BEST WORK WITH A VEHICLE

1. Bourne Identity
Stunt drivers perform a car chase through the crowded streets of a European city. This
chase includes driving on sidewalks filled with people, navigating through small alleys,
driving down stairs, a motorcycle slide, crashing through a glass door and a stunt man
crashing a motorcycle into a car and flipping over the vehicle.

Stunt drivers chase each other through a melting building made entirely of ice and on a
frozen tundra. Machine guns and explosives are fired at each car as they make their way
around the palace and crash into walls and drive around pools of water. One car is
flipped on its hood and skids along the ice.

3. Die Another Day


Stunt men drive hovercrafts around a mine field while shooting at each other.
Hovercrafts are blown up, flipped and glide over fire and muddy pools. Two stunt men
also fight on the moving vehicles. The chase ends when the vehicles crash over a cliff,
into a pool of water.

4. Showtime
Car chase around the streets including police vehicles and a garbage truck. Vehicles
crash into other vehicles to avoid the chase, a large truck falls on its side during a sharp
turn and the garbage truck skewers a police car with its forklift. The chase ends as a stunt
man jumps from the moving garbage truck to another moving vehicle beside it.

5. XXX
Stunt drivers maneuver motorcycles around exploding buildings during a drug raid.
During this stunt, helicopters fire at the motorcycles, a motorcycle jumps an exploding
vehicle, a stunt driver on a motorcycle jumps through barbed wire and a stunt man jumps
over barn as it explodes behind him.

BEST SPECIALTY STUNT

1. Blue Crush
Surfer doesn’t make it through a wave at Pipeline and gets her surfboard tangled in the
reef. After untangling herself from the reef, she is pounded by large waves.

2. Die Another Day


Three surfers ride large waves, crossing each other on the face of the wave and moving
closely together, as they make their way to the beach.

3. Extreme Ops
Stunt men snowboard behind a train, while holding onto ropes attached to the train. This
stunt includes several flips over mounds of snow, traveling on railroad tracks and
multiple snowboarding techniques.

4. XXX
Stunt man drives a Corvette off a bridge and escapes the inevitable crash by parachuting
off the car and gliding to safety.

5. XXX
Stunt man harpoons a moving boat while in a car traveling parallel to the boat. Using a
parachute, the stuntman attaches himself to the moving boat and flies behind it. As a
bridge approaches, the stunt man unhooks himself from the parachute harness and slides
down into the boat.

BEST OVERALL STUNT BY A STUNT MAN

1. Ballistic: Ecks vs. Sever


Stunt man riding a motorcycle hits a jeep and flies off the motorcycle, landing on the
other side of the jeep. As he is landing, two vehicles simultaneously flip over the jeep
and the stunt man as he rolls to safety.

2. Ballistic: Ecks vs. Sever


Sniper is shot off a building and falls from the roof of the building, landing on the top of
a car parked below. The fall follows the stunt man in one continuous shot from the top of

Vampire throws a stunt man across the room and over a bar. The stunt man does several
rotations while soaring through the air, crashes through the glass window behind the bar
and hits a wall behind the glass.

4. XXX
Stunt man drives a Corvette off a bridge and escapes the inevitable crash by parachuting
off the car and gliding to safety.

5. XXX
Stunt man harpoons a moving boat while in a car traveling parallel to the boat. Using a
parachute, the stuntman attaches himself to the moving boat and flies behind it. As a
bridge approaches, the stunt man unhooks himself from the parachute harness and slides

BEST OVERALL STUNT BY A WOMAN

1. Ballistic: Ecks vs. Sever


Stunt woman fights 5 men gathered in a circle. Using batons, she successfully disarms all
of the men.

2. Blue Crush
Surfer bails out of a large wave at Pipeline, churning her through the water and close to
the reef.
Nominee: Kate Skarratt
3. Die Another Day
Two stunt women fight on an airplane that is about to crash. This fight uses multiple
swords and weapons, as well as acrobatic and martial arts moves.
Nominees: Nikki Berwick, Jaime Blake, Amanda Foster

4. Mr. Deeds
Two stunt women fight in a pizza parlor. A stunt woman is clothes-lined, picked up and
thrown into a table. The fight ends with a kick to the chest and another fall into tables
and chairs.

5. Hot Chick
During a pillow fight, a stunt woman is hit with a pillow and thrown back into the wall,
traveling over the bed and causing a dent.
