Hustling the Mark: Lose now to win later. This isn’t just losing, but building up your mark so they get overconfident and lazy. And then, when
they bet it all on a big finish, you tear their throat out. From pool and poker to clubbing and kung-fu, pride comes before their great fall. Make
a Con + Charisma Test with a –6 dice pool modifier (instead of the normal –4 for social maneuvers). If you fail this test, you gain a +2 dice
pool modifier on your next Con or Negotiation test against the same target.
Charming Performance: You’d like to dedicate this song to the handsome mark in the first row ... Gain at least 1 net hit on a Performance
test to increase NPC attitude by one step.
Faux Pas: The more polite you are, the worse they look in comparison. Make an Etiquette + Charisma Test to make a target seem rude or
boorish. They get –2 modifier on Social tests the next turn.
Saving Face: You’ve learned that perfect blend of humor, humility, and quick wit that lets you take a hit and come out looking good. You can
recover from a faux pas with grace, and you can take an insult and be a good sport. If you fail any Social test, you can immediately make an
Etiquette test with a –4 dice pool modifier. If you succeed, you may make that the test again at no penalty.
Rub It In: They know you’ve got them over a barrel. You know how to make them sweat about it. Make a Negotiation + Charisma Test when
you have leverage over the subject. Double the usual +2 dice pool modifier for having blackmail material or a heavy bargaining chip.
Concept
On the streets of Seattle, being part of the Galucci family, Meno has had to work his charm, keep his wits and be quick about it.. To
survive, he has learned all kinds of things,
He can figure out information on his targets, but prefers to go down in person and scout places out. Meno likes to make an entrance, but
years of
hiding being awakened has left him feeling vulnerable when not disguised.
Face / Mage
Description
Dark skinned elf, middle aged.
Tightly maintained short beard, oiled back hair. His hair is thick and coily, dark brown, lighting up with white strands
.
Very well dressed. Usually wearing a dark suit, matched by one of his hats. He just arrived in Seattle a week ago, so he doesn't have
anything on
him yet.
Background
Mena grew up in the Congo Tribal Area. His father was a wakyambi, his mother a northern elf. His parents were killed when he was six
and he was
sold to a trader on his way to Morocco. Once in Casablanca, he was bought by a visiting Mafia consiglieri of the Galucci family and has
worked for them since.
After travelling back to Seattle, he was put in the care of a certain Beatrix Goodwill, a shadowrunner and Soldati of the family at that time.
Beatrix, together with Richard Spencer (another Soldati) has worked her way up over the years. A year ago, her capo disappeared and she
stepped up as the new leader.
The Galucci family normally operate out of Pallyup, but Beatrix has set her sights on Touristville, recenlty acquiring club in Bellevue (Club
RED). Beatrix and Richard have become his family and he has set out to expand their network. To get where he is now, he has had to
train vigirously and learn a plethora off skills. Mean is now a Soldati within the Galucci family, working under Beatrix.
The Galluci Family
The Mafia has been losing influence in the past decades due to other syndicates being more tech savy and recruiting more experienced
awakened. Beatrix is aiming remedy this, by expanding her cyberware business and recruiting mages and adepts into her ranks.
She operates slightly differently from usual families, and in a more modern style, she likes to create a network of trusted freelancers. She
focuses on professionalism: Omerta & Respetti (Silence & Respect).
Shadowrunners
When it comes to the Mafia, their "Johnsons" don't have major issues with shadowrunners. They prefer to meet in public places they
control (often restaurants or clubs), and will either pay the shadowrunners or kill them. The Mafia will hire shadowrunners for more types
of jobs than the Yakuza would, much less the Triads.
Shadowrunners can find themselves doing what would appear to be a normal run-of-the-mill job, and find themselves deep into a family
business matter. When it comes to shadowrunners who cost the Mafia business or money, or hurt their reputation, the Mafia (like the
Yakuza) is willing to spend a lot of time and money tracking you down and making you pay.
