Running head: NASA PICTURE OF THE DAY 2

NASA picture of the day

My NASA picture of the day goes to the image posted om 23 rd February 2020. The

picture was of perseverance rovers landing on Mars. It was interesting how to see people landing

in a new planet. Curiosity took me to the picture to go confirm whether mars can support life.

It was amazing how it dramatically opened the large parachute and slowed the spacecraft.

The surface of the planet was getting detailed as the perseverance descended

Perseverance rovers were designed with mast camera zoom instruments to give important

images to help in achieving Mars 2020 goals ((Pla-Garcia,2020). Mast camera zoom had ability

to zoom 4:1 to ensure stereoscopic imaging for science.

Perseverance landed on Jezero crater where they would search previous habitability of

the planet. It has been said that mars can support life though from NASA image of the day

seemed to be so dry. In predicting of landing site of perseverance rovers on crater of Jezero was

forecasting model and MARS weather study . COmplutense and MIchigan Mars Radiative

Transfer model was used to foresee the radioactive force which was incorporated with local

single model to give clear predictions of water cycle (Pla-Garcia,2020).

The predictions were not only to give meteorological measurements but also give clarity

of seasonal changes and meteorological phenomena which may affect the operations both

positively and negatively.
