Part 1: Build the network and configure basic device settings [CLO1, P3] (10marks)
Step 1: Build the network as shown as in Figure 1.

Step 2: Configure basic settings for every device according Table 1:

a. Set hostname for server as shown in Topology.

Part 2: Install Windows services, create new VPN user on Active Directory and join the
domain [CLO1, P4] (30 marks)
Step 1: Perform installation the Windows server services, create new VPN users on Active Directory and
join domain.
a. Server 2 – install Active Directory.

i. Promote server 2 as a domain controller.

ii. Add a new forest and set root domain name – lemon.my.

iii. Set DSRM password – p@ssw0rd

iv. Set NetBIOS domain name - LEMON

b. Server 2 – Install the DNS services.

c. On Active Directory, create 3 VPN user for VPN login.

i. Set the 3 user properties for Network Access Permission in Dial-in properties as
allow access.

Step 2: Server 1 – Join domain lemon.my.
Step 3: Server 1 – Install VPN service (DirectAcces and Routing).
 Step 5: Verify every service on each server is up and running.

Part 3: Configure VPN Settings [CLO1, P4] (15marks)

Step 1: Configure Remote Access.
a. Deploy VPN only.
b. Configure and Enable Routing and Remote Access (Select Custom Configuration).

c. Select Custom Configuration for VPN access.

d. Start VPN services.

e. Configure static address pool for VPN user – 10.10.10.12 until 10.10.10.254.
Step 2: Configure remote PC to access VPN server.
a. Add VPN Connection
i. VPN provider: Windows (built-in)
ii. Connection name: VPN Office
iii. Server name or address: 192.168.1.10
iv. VPN type: Automatic
v. Type of sign-in info: User name and password.
vi. Insert username and password that has created in Part 2: Step 1c.

Step 3: Connect the VPN on remote PC to verity the configuration is working.
Part 4: Verify all PCs IP address. [CLO1, P3] (10marks)
Step 1: Run CMD command on remote PC to verify VPN network adapter assign with the correct IP
address.

Step 2: Test network connectivity between remote PC and internal server by issuing command ping.
