 Background of the author

William K. Tabb is an economics professor at Queens College and also
sometimes teaches as a political science professor at the Graduate School
of the city of New York. His previous books include The Amoral Elephant,
Reconstructing Political Economy, and The Postwar Japanese System.

 The content, scope of the text

In this book, Tabb argues that global economic institutions as the World
Bank and the International Monetary Fund constitute a nascent
international state for which all previous models of sovereignty,
accountability and equity are insufficient. Merging between political
science and economics, Tabb outlines the appearance of this global state
from the closing days of World War II and inspect its future and
development.

 The intended audience

As it can be shown from its publisher Columbia University Press, it is fair
to say that this book targets a scholarly audience. However, this book is
also available for the general audience if concerned by the book.

 The research method

The research method includes both the primary and secondry resources.
For instance, for the primary method the authors used some research and
studies to discuss his findings with his opinion. While for the secondary
resources, the author used other books and articles to defend his findings
in regard to other works.

 Special features of the text

 The book contains a series numerical data that is shown in a more
simplified way through tables and graphs that illustrate the information in
a better way for the reader.

 The relevance or usefulness of the text for your research

As a bachelor graduate with dissertation in global governance, I am always
in need to develop more concentrated knowledge about this field whether
is it for my MBA or to help have an idea about my Phd. This book will help
me a lot on my research project.

 In what way the text relates to themes or concepts in my course

This text has a series of concepts and themes that relates to my finance,
management and economics courses. It cites lot of things and ideas that I
am interested on and also helps me since I can work on it a study
material.

This article argues the transformation globalization tooks in time
comparing the present and then trying to give some recommendations
on how it will be in the future

This article will help me sharpen my knowledge skills about the concept
of global governance from different perspectives especially that it takes
into consideration a series of challenges that will contribute to the
evolution of this concept into other sub-concepts in the future

This article relates to topics we usually discuss in my management class
especially in the part of globalization and also we discuss things related to
it in both finance and economics classes
