Sometimes we use the present perfect simple to talk about past actions

without specific time reference “I have been to LA a couple of times”.

Sometimes we use the present perfect simple to talk about actions that
started in the past and continue into the present “DURATION”....
“I have had the same house for years”.

Sometimes we use the present perfect simple to talk about recent past
actions which affected my present….”I can’t drive my car because I have lost
my keys”
1 Use the present perfect simple if you are talking about past experiences
in your life “when you don’t have specific time reference”....

I have been in love twice…She has had different car accidents in her life.

2 Use the present perfect simple if you want to express a recent past
action.

She has had a car accident - she’s in hospital now.


Grandpa has had a heart attack - he was sent to hospital.

3 Use the present perfect simple to describe past actions in combination


with the following time expressions…..”Before” “yet” “Already” “just” “ever”.

They haven’t finished the project yet.


We have already done that exercise, teacher.

4 Use the present perfect simple to talk about actions that started in the
past and continue into the present…in this case, sometimes, the present
perfect continuous is acceptable too….

I have worked for the same company for years. (correct)


I have been working for the same company for years. (correct)

5 Use the present perfect continuous to talk about actions that are not
finished.

She has been studying for her exams for days.

6 Use the present perfect continuous to repeated actions/situations in

I have been watching a lot of TV series recently.


She has been doing a lot of exercise.
