Animal Tessellation Art

You will need:

• an animal stencil (see below)

• a pencil

• scissors

• felt-tip pens

• A4 or A3 paper

• small piece of card

Instructions
1. Cut out the animal stencil below.

2. Trace around your stencil on

the card and cut it out.

3. Place your card stencil at the edge of your

piece of paper and draw around it.

4. Place your card stencil next to your first

outline, making sure that the shapes tessellate
and there are no gaps. Draw around it.

5. Continue placing and drawing around

your stencil until your whole page is
filled with your animal shapes.

6. Decide how to decorate your animal shapes.

Will you make a cat’s face, a fox’s head or
something else? Maybe you could turn the stencil
on its side to make a fish or another animal?

7. Colour in your animal designs and add details

with felt-tip pens.
