About the Department
The Department of Commerce was started in the year1980 and has well qualified
faculty. The all-round growth of the students is ensured through regular conduct of various
curricular, co-curricular, sports and extra-curricular activities. Student Centered Activities
such as seminars and workshops related to subjects, soft skills, career opportunities,
health and hygiene are organized periodically to keep the students’ employability in tandem
with the changing trends and growing demands of the employment market as well as to
enable the students to lead a healthy life. The alumnae of the department are well placed in
the society occupying important positions in the fields of commerce, banking,
administration, accounting, trade, and academics. Mrs. Geetha Jeevan, Minister for
Social Welfare is one of the prominent alumnae of the department. To relish the joy of
sharing and caring, the Department is providing service for the betterment of the local
community since 2018.
