1 JOHDANTO
1 . 1 Soveltamisalue

Tässä laatuohjeessa määritellään korroosionesto varas-

toinnin ja kuljetuksen ajaksi puolivalmisteille, osille
ja komponenteille, joita ei ole kokonaan pinnoitettu
(esim. sinkitty, maalattu, muovitettu jne.) ja joille
ei ole esitetty muita korroosionestovaati-muksia.

Valmistuksessa eri vaiheiden välissä ei korroosio-

suojausta tarvitse tehdä, mikäli välivarastoinnit
ovat lyhyitä ja tapahtuvat kuivissa sisätiloissa.
1.2 Korroosionestovaatimuksen esittäminen

Tämän laatuohjeen mukainen korroosionestovaatimus

annetaan ensisijaisesti piirustuksessa merkitsemällä
piirustuksen otsikkotaulun kohtaan "Pinnan suojaus"
laatuohjeen numero: TLO 502

Laatuohjeen mukainen korroosionestovaatimus voidaan

tarvittaessa (esim. puolivalmisteille) antaa myös
tilauksessa merkitsemällä tilauslomakkeeseen:

2 PUHDISTUS ENNEN SUOJAUSTA

Ennen korroosionestoaineen levittämistä on suojattava

metallipinta puhdistettava epäpuhtauksista. Puhdis-
tuksen jälkeen pinnassa ei saa olla ruostetta, valssi-
hilsettä, lastuja, pölyä, roskia tai muita epäpuhtauk-
sia, jotka heikentävät korroosioneston suojavaikutusta.
Pinta on puhdistuksen jälkeen kuivattava ennen suo-
jausta.
3 SUOJAUS

Korroosionestoaine on levitettävä suojattavalle pin-

nalle siten, että se muodostaa yhtenäisen kalvon koko
pinnan alueelle. Levitysmenetelmäksi suositellaan
kastelua upottamalla koko kappale korroosionestoainetta
sisältävään altaaseen.

Suojauksen jälkeen kappaleesta on valutettava ylimää-

räinen korroosionestoaine huolellisesti pois siten
ettei sitä jää kappaleen sisälle, koloihin tai vastaa-
viin paikkoihin.

Korroosionestoaineella käsiteltyjen kappaleiden likaan-

tuminen ennen pakkausta on estettävä. Myös varastoinnin
ja kuljetuksen aikana ne on suojattava epäpuhtauksilta .

1 INTRODUCTION
1.1 Field of application

This quality instruction specifies corrosion prevention

during storage and transport for semimanufactured
articles, parts and components which are not completely
coated (e.g. zinc-coated, painted, plastic-coated), and
for which no other corrosion prevention requirements
have been presented.
There is no need to apply corrosion preventive during
production between various phases of work, if storage
periods are short and storage premises are dry.
1.2 Presentation of requirements for corrosion
prevention
Corrosion prevention requirement specified in this
quality instruction is primarily given in the drawing
by marking quality instruction number: TLO 502 onto the
face area, point "Protection of surface".
Corrosion prevention requirements presented in this
quality instruction can also be given, if necessary,
(e.g. for semimanufactured products) in the order by
marking: Corrosion prevention TLO 502.
2 CLEANING BEFORE PROTECTION

Before applying corrosion preventive, any metal surface

to be covered must be thorougly cleaned of impurities.
After cleaning no rust, roll scale, chips, dust, dirt
or other impurities that might reduce the protective
effect of corrosion preventive must be found. Surface
must be dried after cleaning before protection.

Corrosion preventive must be applied so that it

forms a consistent film on the whole surface. As
applying method it is recommended to dip the part
to be protected in a reservoir that is filled with
corrosion preventive.
After protection all residual corrosion preventive
has to be drained off, especially from inside the
object, from holes and corners and corresponding
places.
Before packaging, care must be taken not to let
any dirt on articles treated with corrosion preventive.
They must also be protected against impurities
during storage and transport.
4. TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS FOR CORROSION PREVENTIVES

Protection provided by corrosion

preventive: neutral salt spray test
specified in SFS 3707 (ISO 3768) 2 hrs. for
test piece (1 x 100 x 150) material: cold-
rolled plate St 12.03 m (DIN 1541).
Protection provided by this requirement
corresponds to:
2 months' storage out-of-doors
under a shed
8 months' storage in warm indoor
premises
Finnish fire classification no.: class II at the most
Effects on health: may cause irritation at the most
It must be possible to measure the article without having to take off
protection.
It must be possible to wash off the corrosion preventive from the surface
with an alkali spray wash (pH ~10, temperature ~ 60°C).
