    The Fear of God

    Deuteronomy 6:2

    God is almighty he is the creator of the whole universe.


    People have different view as towards this topic “Fear of God”, the fear of God
    doesn’t mean you should be scared of Him or you should move away from him. Fear of
    God is love,purity,trust,obedience and undoubted worship towards him. He wants us
    to be close to him not take him as an idol.

    An adapted description of the fear of God from John Brown, who wrote a massive
    commentary on the first book of Peter, where we have the command to fear God(1
    Peter 2:17) :
    “To fear God is to love him so that His frown would be your greatest dread and His
    smile would be your greatest delight.”

    A person who fears God is one who has seen and tasted his glory,his judgement and
    his love.
    Jeremiah 32:39
    We can see from this passage that the fear of God will bring good things to our
    lives.

    There are benefits attached to the fear of God; thus:


    You will have wisdom : Psalm 111:10
    It will keep you from sin Exodus 20:20
    Also his protection will be over you
    All your needs will be provided
    Long life

    To have the fear of God is essential in living a fulfilled and fruitful life both
    on earth and in Heaven.
