PLANTS´ DEATH CAUSES

Plants usually die less than a month after their purchase. This occurs even after they had

been on the shelves for weeks. Plants generally die for two basic causes: bad watering and

inadequate exposure to light.

The first reason why plants die is because the watering. It is essential to know the

irrigation of each plant, because too much and too little water can be deadly. People tend to put

more water than the plant needs. If the plant survives this excessive watering, the person

gradually becomes accustomed to having it. When that occurs, the person is likely to start

watering it less and less, so the plant may also die. Houseplants are often humid plants, so they

should survive the initial overwatering. However, most people don´t know what indoor plants are

and choose their plants just for the aesthetic.

The second reason for plant death is a result of insufficient or extreme lighting. Like

irrigation, each plant requires specific lighting. Plants which need much light will die easily in

indirect light. However, plants that need indirect light will easily die in full sunlight. The

problem is the same still, people´s ignorance about the plant characteristics.

In conclusion, irrigation and illumination are the two main causes of plant mortality.

Learning about a plant is simple. You can go to Google at any time. Even in stores, they are

usually located in the perfect place to adapt. With proper lighting, watering can be moderate for

all of them.
