(Focus Group Discussion)

Introduction
Thank you for coming, we are grateful that you all signed up and came here to
be part of the focus group discussions. Please be aware that your participation will
simply involve answering questions, which will focus on your cultural practices and its
preservation. It is hoped that the valuable information you will provide on the matter will
help us make this educational successful.
This discussion is confidential, we won’t be associating your names with what
you say her, which means we would like everyone to use first names only today. We will
be recording the discussion so that we will be able to remember what we hear. Your
responses will be held in utmost confidentiality and no one else will have access to the
information you will providing including your identity and other personal information.
We would like to assure you that there will be no risks to you as a result of your
participation in the study and that there will be no negative consequences should you
decide at any time to withdraw or not answer any of the questions we will ask.
Finally, please feel free to ask any questions about the procedure at any time
during the interview.
You would do me a great favor if you answer each question as thoroughly and as
specifically as possible. Personal stories and examples are preferred as well as any
additional information that you may feel is relevant.
