Passover Series: Psalm 113-118 (Hallel) Cup of Joy!

Psalm 114
God is both With Us and For US

Verse 2
Judah was a sanctuary or holy place for God.
Israel was a power.

A. The Spirit of God looks for 2 things a place to dwell.

1. God has chosen to dwell amongst men. To make his place among us.
It is something when you hear that someone thinks about you or
sends good wishes by text message or by email. It is different though
to have someone that genuinely cares for you in your company. That
the person wants to spend time with you is something different,
intimate, and special.
a. God chose this relationship with Israel and Judah.
He chooses this relationship with you and me if we open our
hearts like we open our homes to a guest and say stay with me
you are welcome and this is SOO the desire of our God.

b. How would this look like in our daily lives?

An acknowledgement to start. Thank you God that you live in
me. Help me to lean on you and to commune with you because
you chose to be here with me.
You say, “well that sounds all great but I just don’t feel or see
God around me”
Have you asked him to reveal himself to you in a way you’ll
understand, to guide and lead you. Sometimes we want God
but we don’t want to be lead by him, we want to lead ourselves.
We must be careful not to make God feel like we don’t want
him to lead us.
Are we expecting that he will lead us and speak to us? Maybe
you need ask Him for forgiveness for this?

2. And looks to exercise His power for His people. Verse 2 “Y Israel su
señ orio.”
a. What happens whe God lives with his people in an active way
and shows his power?
i. Miracles. The Miraculous made a reality (Lo milagroso
hecho realidad)
ii. Verse 2-7 God stops the Jordan river for Joshua. Showing
that he would not only be part of the life of Moises but
his life as well.
1. Read Joshua 2:7-17 God speaks to Joshua.
3. Verse 8
a. Rock to Water.
i. Reference to Exodus 17:6-7
1. Moises instructed by God….”He aqui que yo estare
nosotros, o no?
a. Why was God mad? Because Isreal didn’t
believe in God among them any more. They
saw the miracles but now put to the test they
doubted. Do we doubt God when things are
difficult? Maybe God worked in our lives in
the past but we just don’t see it now. How do
we react?
i. Do we lean in closer to him and trust
that he will work because he has
worked and is faithful?
¿Nos apoyamos más cerca de él y
confiamos en que trabajará porque él
trabajó y es fiel?
Psalm 115 God is thinking of us: Wants to bless us and shield and help us.

Verse 1
He deserves glory because of His Mercy and His Truth
Mercy for our sin.
Truth that sets us free.

Verse 3 God does what he wants to do. Not what we want to do.

Verse 4-8
Idols can’t speak God can
Can’t See God can
Can’t hear but God can
Can’t touch but God can
Can’t walk with you God can
Who or what are you trusting in tonight?

Verse 9-11
God our help and shield 3x
So we should trust and fear him

Verse 12-18
God thinks about us!!!
And wants to bless us as we respect Him.
As we respect His son Jesus we have entrance to His blessing! His cup of Joy!
