Verbal Order”. Every effort shall be made to
minimize the use of verbal orders.

Order.
After getting medication order in telephone, the staff
nurse should note down the same in patient case sheet &
should read back it by letter to the Consultant. This is
followed to confirm back the drug name and dosage to
be given to the patient.

• If any drug/consumable is found contaminated/not in
good condition/not authorised by the govt./found to be
allergic to the patient should be intimated immediately
to the pharmacy manager. Drug should not be
administered to the patient and it should be returned to
the Pharmacy after writing the details in Drug Recall
register/form.
