5.1. Summary
The primary purpose of this study was how to organize the
practicum of the on - the - job training students by designing and
developing an online monitoring and assessment system for the
Institute of Computing Studies of Mabalacat City College that
will address the problems met by the stakeholders and will

the web system as shown in Figure 14. Memorandum Order (CMO) No. 23, Series of 2009 that requires

CMO, the HEIs should formulate proper monitoring and
assessment of student trainees. In designing and developing the
OJT monitoring and assessment system, the Institute of
Computing Studies of Mabalacat City College managed to comply
with the CHED CMO with an online system that can check and
assess the student trainees in their practicum.
In designing and developing the OJT monitoring and assessment
system, six (6) modules were incorporated in the system. These
modules are: (1) administrator module, (2) dean module, (3) OJT
adviser module, (4), industry - partner module, (5) OJT student
module, and (6) the guest module.
The development cycle of the system was guided by the
prototyping model because it allowed the developer to create a
prototype of the system based on the first requirements analyzed
Figure 14. Link Validation Test Result during the data gathering phase. The prototyping model also
allowed the users to have an actual feel of the system even before
the product is finished.
