Chapter 3

RESULTS

This chapter presents the analysis of findings of the gathered data from

the research instruments used to determine the level of readiness and motivation

towards college education of the Grade 12 students of Ramon Magsaysay

Memorial Colleges in the academic year 2021-2022, and determined what

proposed intervention program can be formulated from its findings.

Table 1 shows the level of readiness of Grade 12 learners of Ramon

Magsaysay Memorial Colleges towards college education in the academic year

2021-2022 in terms of peers, family/parents, financial, and self. And among the

given terms it can be seen that the learners’ level of readiness towards education

when it comes to peers was ready when it got the highest composite mean score

of 3.97 where the learners were highly ready to meet newer friend in school

(4.68), ready to go to college with friends(4.05), and lastly, they were moderately

ready to enter college, but they doubt it without their friends (3.18).

It can also be seen in table 1 that the Grade 12 learners’ level of readiness

was ready on Family/parents when it got a composite mean score of 3.63 where

the learners’ want to go to school as much as their parents (4.08) and their

parents/family are ready to sustain their need (3.93). Also, it can be seen that the

learner’s parents/family were moderately ready in wanting the learners to pursue

college in a not-known college school.

Moreover, it can be seen that the learners’ level of readiness was

moderately ready on the following terms: Financial as it got a composite mean

score of 3.39 where learners were ready financially prepared for a college life

(3.60) and their financial was not a problem to them (3.18), and lastly, self with a

composite mean score of 2.96 where the learners were moderately ready

because they do not feel pressured in going to school (2.98) and it does not

scare them (2.95).

Furthermore, it can be seen that the level of readiness of Grade 12

learners of Ramon Magsaysay Memorial Colleges towards college

educationduring the academic year 2021-2022 was ready as it got a grand mean

score of 3.49.

Table 2 shows the common motivation of grade 12 learners of Ramon

Magsaysay Memorial Colleges towards college education during the academic

year 2021-2022 in terms of peers, family/parents, financial, and self. And it can

be seen that among the given terms, the learners were most motivated towards

college education because of themselves as self got a composite mean score of

4.19 where learners were highly motivated towards college education because it

was their dream score (4.28) and they were motivated because they were willing

to give up extracurricular interest to have excellent grades (4.10).

It can be seen that the learners were motivated to college education

because of their family/parents as it got a composite mean score of 4.10 where

parents always support them in their educational decision (4.38), relatives often

support them if they pursue college education (3.98), and lastly, parents often

encourage them in their chosen course (3.95). They were also motivated

because of financial as it got a composite mean score of 3.78 where learners feel

motivated with the scholarship that sustain their needs in college (4.08) and they

seek part time jobs to support in entering collegiate level (3.48).

Lastly, it can be seen that learners were slightly motivated with peers as it

got a composite mean score of 2.18 where they rarely rely their decision on their

friend's choice in choosing the course (2.38), slightly motivated to go to college

without their friends (2.33), and lastly, if their friend was pursuing college, they’re

also pursuing college education (1.85).

Furthermore, it can be seen that grade 12 learners of Ramon Magsaysay

Memorial Colleges were motivated towards college education as it got a grand

mean score of 3.56.

FORMULATION OF PROPOSED INTERVENTION PROGRAM

This section presents the ideas and concepts for the proposed

intervention program.

I. TITLE

The program will be called “REINFORCEMENTOF COLLEGE

READINESS AND MOTIVATION OF GRADE 12 STUDENTS IN SELF

PREPAREDNESS, FINANCIAL EDUCATION AND PEER MOTIVATION

THROUGH SYMPOSIUM PROGRAM”

II. PROGRAM DESCRIPTION

This program is proposed based on the result of the findings of the

study entitled: Level of Readiness and Motivation of Grade 12 Students of

RMMC towards College Education: Basis for a Proposed Intervention

Program. This program intent is to educate and inform the students to

become proactive by their self-preparedness, financial and peer

motivation on college education.

RATIONALE

This “Reinforcement of College Readiness and Motivation of Grade

12 Students in Self Preparedness, Financial Education and Peer

Motivation through Symposium Program” is designed to help the students

to be ready financially and self-prepared in collegiate level. Also it includes

the peer motivation to enrage the willingness in entering the college

education. Thus, this program also knows the extent of the preparedness

of the students for what will be the settings in collegiate level.

III. OBJECTIVES

The program will be called Reinforcement of College Readiness

and Motivation of Grade 12 Students in Self Preparedness, Financial

Education and Peer Motivation through Symposium Program will allow the

learners to:

a. Inform and educate learners on readiness and motivation

towards college education in terms of:
