FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE 47th Ward Public Service Office Alderman Ameya Pawar press@chicago47.

org 773-868-4747 Tuesday, September 06, 2011 Announcement: 47th Ward Zoning Advisory Committee I am pleased to announce the members of the 47th Ward Zoning Advisory Committee (ZAC). This committee will help inform my decisions related to zoning changes, administrative adjustments and special use applications. The 47th Ward Public Service Office is committed to making the zoning process transparent. I want to thank the members of the community for volunteering their time and energy to ensure the zoning process in the 47th Ward is clear, consistent and transparent. How the ZAC will work Any project regardless of size or scope seeking a zoning change, administrative adjustment, liquor license, or special use, will be required to fill out the 47th Ward Zoning Information Form. Once received, the form will be reviewed by this office, the ZAC, and most importantly, be available online for public comment at www.chicago47.org. Residents and businesses can comment on projects and all feedback will be posted online along with the Zoning Information Form (personal information will be redacted). The ZAC is an advisory body -- decisions will be made using input from the ZAC, community input and the City of Chicagos Zoning Administrator. Alderman Pawar and the ZAC will meet with applicants and the final decision will be made by Alderman Pawar. Community Meetings & ZAC For projects consisting of more than four residential units, the developer must reach out to the neighborhood association (or other community group suggested by the ZAC) within the impact area and send written notice of such proposed project or zoning variance by U.S. mail to all residents within 200 feet of the proposed development. Community meetings may be required for these projects. This is done to ensure there is public input and that the process is transparent. Also, the 200 foot requirement may be increased or decreased based on the size/scope of the project. Additionally, community meetings may be held for any and all projects.
