Introduction
Welcome to Copenhagen! The premier capital of Northern Europe is Scandinavia's most fantasticcity and
the center of the most dynamic region in Europe, the Øresund Region. The city is one of Europe's oldest
capitals with an exclusive royal touch - the monarchy in Denmark is the oldest in the world.
In Copenhagen you will find a wide range of entertainment, culture, and shopping. You can enjoy a
continental atmosphere and visit the classic destinations such as Tivoli Gardens amusement park and the
Copenhagen Zoo. The city is historic and at the same time very youthful and innovative.
Many visitors come here to enjoy the great food. There are plenty of well-known gourmet
restaurants, many nightlife spots with beer gardens and the traditional Danish open-faced
sandwiches.

Tivoli – an amusement park placed in the heart of Copenhagen. Part of Tivoli Gardens' secret is that there
is something for everyone. The scenery is beautiful with exotic architecture, historic buildings, and lush
gardens. At night, thousands of coloured lights create a fairy tale atmosphere that is completely unique.
The rides are all designed to match Tivoli's architecture and gardens.
If time allows you, you should try to bike around the city as the real Copenhagener. Copenhagen isworld
famous for its biking culture which is as old as the bicycle itself. Copenhageners have used bicycles to
transport themselves to work since the 1880s. Every morning at around 7am Copenhagen comes to life.
Men in business suits, women fashionably dressed in the latest styles down to their high heel shoes and
parents carrying their children in a cargo bike all hop on their bikes and get off to work or school.
In the past decade, Danish food has grown increasingly associated with so-called New Nordic cuisine, a
movement born with the 2003 opening of Noma in Copenhagen and characterized by its modern spin on
ultra-local, seasonal ingredients.
