I want to learn the technique of Belcanto upon singing this song. To be able to sing flowy and with the
voice just soaring without any constrictions. I also need to be able to show the emotion physically so
that the audience will feel more than just me singing. This song is hard to sing because its tessitura sits
in the middle range and the tempo and length of notes are challenging to sustain. To sing this, I need to
stretch my voice by vocalizing more than what the song requires. I need to practice on my breathing
technique and the proper support. I also need to exaggerate my mind in terms of imagination and
portrayal of the emotion because I think that what my mind believes what doing is not enough. I need to
be efficient in my singing to be able to sustain long notes while singing it dynamically.

Originally, this song is for Orontea (soprano role). But since I will be singing it, I need to sing it in a
different situation. I must imagine myself being secretly inlove to a woman that I really admire. And that
woman has other suitors. I’m struggling to confess because of uncertainties and fear of rejection. I need
to carefully analyze the message of the song word by word to be able to accurately capture what the
composer wants to portray on that song.
