PGS/MGS V9R1
Release Notes

PGS V9R1 provides significant improvements at key steps of the collection development process:

MDL direct import in PGS and PXChange

AAMA exportability checking

New and improved measurement chart

Piece modification display improvements

New corner tools

Dynamic measurements

Secure your pattern conversion process and save time with the improved AAMA exchange capabilities as
well as the new, native import of Modaris files in PGS. Take advantage of the permanent and graphical
visualization of pattern modifications. Increase your productivity during prototyping phases and easily reuse
your company assets using the new dynamic measurement table. Ensure perfect quality and fit for all your
collections thanks to the five new corner tools add-on and better grading display.

MGS V9R1 provides significant improvements at key steps of collection pre-production process:

Management of new automatic nesting constraints: proximity, vertical packs and horizontal
strips

Blocking and buffering enhancements

Piece scale factors (X&Y) management for fabric costing

Nesting parts interactively on top of real fabric images

Opening and organizing several markers at once

Usability improvements: New user interface including improved visualization of piece options,
customizing menus and more

The automatic nesting process incorporates many new constraints that significantly improve the quality of
the markers such as: nesting sizes or groups of pieces in horizontal strips for better control of fabric shading;
in vertical strips for better manufacturability; or nesting nearby sets of pieces defined by different criteria for
special needs.
New functions support better management of groups of markers. New circular blocking and security
distances improve fabric yield and cutting speed. Individual pieces can be scaled by different factors to
quickly estimate material consumption under different circumstances.
Markers can now be accurately nested on complex patterned fabric over a background using the real image
of the fabric.

It is now possible to import Modaris .MDL files to PGS and/or PXChange without going through a data
conversion process. Indeed, PGS can now read more geometrical and analytical information from Modaris
files to ensure more consistent data when working in PGS.
After inserting a Modaris file in the Invesmark database, you can now access the detailed MDL structure and
read the file in PGS.

3. V9R1’S SERVICE APPLICATIONS (“INVESMARK”)

3.1 PXCHANGE improvement

When importing pieces from one file in AAMA/ASTM format and the structure of the model is defined in the
file, then the model is created as well.
The program will automatically create a new set of sizes if in the database there is no set of sizes that
corresponds to the sizes of imported AAMA/ASTM. If there is a set of identical sizes in the database, then
the program will let you choose to use the existing set:
