"Water is the engine of all nature.

"
Leonardo da Vinci
Water is very important to live so it is important to take care of it. Good morning my
name is Felipe Rodriguez Hernandez and today I am going to talk about clean water and
sanitation.
Clean water and sanitation is the sixth concept in the UN 2030 agenda, why is it
considered? Because one of three people in the world has access to clean water and two out
of five people do not have access to a basic facility to wash their hands.
The availability and access to water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) services is essential
to fight the virus and preserve the health and well- being of millions of people. COVID-19
will not go away without access to clean water for people living in vulnerable situations,
according to United Nations experts.
The effects of COVID-19 could be considerably more severe on the urban poor who live
in the suburbs and do not have access to clean water. UN-Habitat is working with partners
to facilitate access to running water and hand washing in informal settings.
UNICEF is urgently calling for funds and aid to reach more girls and boys with basic
water, sanitation and hygiene facilities, especially those children who are cut off from safe
water supplies because they live in remote areas, or in places where the water is not treated
or contaminated, or because they are homeless and live in a suburb or on the streets.
Finally, I want to invite you to take care of the water in our daily lives, not to dirty the seas
and to reduce our carbon footprint by moving in a sustainable way and raising awareness
of ourselves.
Help the world
