Breaking a glass services here in Philippines. Taksyapo is located at the little town of Gerona,

Tarlac. “Taksyapo “is an old kapampangan word for “bwisit”, it is also the term used when

Cafès have been established as part of industrialized nation throughout the world. Cafes

contributed so much that it gives big impact in the society especially to the people that is always

on the go. It has been a daily routine for the people who always drink coffee. Café gives an

environment for creativity and thoughts or just simply a place to relax and spend some time with

friends.

Most common English spelling, cafe, is the French, Portuguese and Spanish spelling,

and was adopted by English-speaking countries in the late 19th century. The word cafe is

5
sometimes called a coffeehouse or a coffee shop in English, a café in French, Spanish, and

Portuguese and a caffè in Italian. It shares some of the characteristics of a bar, and some of the

characteristics of a restaurant. Many coffee houses in the Middle East and in West Asian

immigrant districts in the Western world offer shisha (nargile in Greek and Turkish), flavored

tobacco smoked through a hookah. Espresso bars are a type of coffeehouse that specializes in

serving espresso and espresso-based drinks.

From a cultural standpoint, coffee houses largely serve as center of social interaction, the

coffee houses provides customers a place to hang out, talk, read, write, entertain one another, or

simply idle away. Coffee house sometime serves as informal club for its regular members. In

1950’s and 1960’s, coffee houses hosted singing performance especially in the evening.

Cafés may have an outdoor section in terrace, pavement or in sidewalks with seats, and

tables. This is traditionally seen in cafes in European Countries. Cafés offer a more open public

space compared to many of the traditional pubs they have replaced, which were more male

dominated with a focus on drinking alcohol.

Coffee Houses or Cafes’ emerged at different times throughout the world, extending its

origin in the Middle East. Coffee house traced back to nearly 500 years ago, in Arabia. The

Penny House is the first english café appeared during 17 th century reflecting the cost of coffee

during this time. Penny House developed as an alternative to pubs, offering a partial solution to

the harms of the pub environment. Coffee House as mere improvised stalls scattered throughout

Europe. Over time it became urban institutions. There have been setbacks in the growth of Café

culture during the World War II. Century’s later coffee houses were introduced to America. The

creation of Starbucks Cafe in 1971 café culture in the United States.

6
Coffee shop is an establishment which primarily serves hot coffee, related coffee

beverages, tea and other beverages. Some coffee house also serves cold beverages such as iced

coffee and ice tea. Many café also serves light snacks, muffins or pastries. Coffee houses range

from owner-operated small businesses to large multinational corporation.

One of the original use of the cafe, is being a place where people can exchange

information and for communication. In the modern day cafe’s having a wifi can be more

attracted to the customers. Computers and Internet access in a contemporary-styled venue help to

create a youthful, modern place, compared to the traditional pubs or old-fashioned diners that

they replaced.

Stress Relieving

You know what I do when I’m mad? I hit a pillow. Just hit the pillow. See how you feel.”

–Billy Crystal, as a psychiatrist, tells client Robert Deniro, in the movie Analyze This.

Base on the research conducted by the proponents, people releasing their stress is having

more positive outlook and healthy in life. Bottling up your emotion can bring stress, tension and

anxiety that may result in depression and can affect to our health. There are ways that we can

release our stress on of this is to throw things. Diverting our emotion to the things and throwing

those with so much force can make us release our emotion or negative feeling.

With the innovation invented by the entrepreneurs, they associate the will to help others

and at the same time putting up a business. One of these is The Smash Shack, it is a business

where they promote a guilt-free smashing environment for parties, date nights, anger therapy,

7
missed anniversaries, or just because. They would rather; people take out their anger in a safe

manner rather than in unhealthy ways and unsafe places. Great therapy is writing and drawing on

the plates and glasses before smashing it.

The Smack Shack is located in 126 Harbord Drive Jacksonville, New Carolina. They

offer plates to break at $10 for 15 pieces, $20 for 15 pieces and $50 for 75 pieces. They make the

customer draw or write something on the plate before smashing it. They call it “self-help anger

therapy for those who need it, or because it's just fun to break things!

Description of the Product

The proposed business will serve beverages like different types of coffee—Americano,

espresso, latte, and cappuccino. The business will also have frappes with different flavors such as

chocolate java chips, strawberry and cream, vanilla Oreo, caramel and cream brulet and lastly the

cakes, cupcakes, chocolates and ice cream. And snacks such as burgers, tacos, pasta, fries, salads

Based on the proponents’ research, eating or drinking sweets may decrease the

production of the stress-related hormone. Sugar can help us lower the response of our body to

stress, giving us a quick fix to panic and anxiety.

Another service that the business will be offering for the customers is breaking the glass

bottle on the wall one of the best way of releasing negative emotions and mental tensions.

Having a business concept of helping our customer to relieve their stress, the proponents

STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEMS:

As the business takes affect for a long period of time Peoples desires and violent

emotions may deplete as stated to the proponents business objectives. Depletion on negative

emotions causes the business prospect to decrease where in breaking bottles or breaking other

objects in a private room may not be enough to satisfy their personal and emotional satisfaction.

Thus quotas on sales drop and expenses rises that may result to bankruptcy.

Chapter II

Industry Review

Olongapo City’s rise as a highly urbanized city is one that is well-regarded and modeled

after by local governments around the world. Olongapo City has three central business districts,

the downtown Olongapo located at east and west bajac-bajac public market, the Ramon

Magsaysay Drive to Gordon Avenue that most of wholesome, family night entertainment and

fine dine restaurants is located and the Barretto Beach, a rest and recreation district located in the

coastal area. It is possible to establish and open a Café in Olongapo especially along the

Magsaysay Drive where most of the offices and businesses establishments are located. There are

other restaurants in Tarlac and Manila that are offering “tasksiyapo” as one of their attraction; it

will be an edge to the Café because it will be the first and only Coffee shop to open with the

“taksiyapo” as the main attraction of the business.

Industry Trend

The performance of cafés will be driven by the expectation of a strong local economy

over the forecast period. Economic growth leading to increasingly busy lifestyles has helped

support the growth of instant coffee, which continues to be a convenient way to consume coffee

as an energy boost throughout the working day.

DTI said that one way to support existing and future coffee entrepreneurs is by encouraging

farmers to go into coffee production.

The local coffee industry currently employs at least 200,000 Filipinos.

17
Navarro cited that global coffee consumption has grown at an average 2.4% growth rate since

2011. Coffee is the world's second most consumed beverage (after water) and the second most

traded commodity (after petroleum).
