WORKSHEET 1
Q1.Define motion. What is its S.l. unit?
Answer: motion is defined as the distance travelled by a body per unit time. Its SI unit is m/s.

Q2. What is odometer? What is its function?

Answer: it is an instrument used for measuring the distance travelled by a vehicle

Q3.Define speed. What is the speed of a car that covers 120 km in 2 hours?

Answer:
speed is the distance covered by a body upon time
Speed= distance/time
=120/2
=60km/hr

Q 4. What is uniform motion? Why speed of a vehicle is not always uniform on

roads?
Answer:
Definition: This type of motion is defined as the motion of an object in which the object travels in a
straight line and its velocity remains constant along that line as it covers equal distances in equal
intervals of time, irrespective of the duration of the time.
Speed of vehicle is not always uniform on road because it may cover unequal distances
in equal intervals of time as there is traffic congestion on roads and sometimes roads have
bends and sometimes roads are not in good conditions.
