Body Mechanics
• Use your legs, not your back, to lift a patient.
• Grasp should be made with palms up (power grip).
• Use power lift when lifting the patient.
• Keep the weight close to the body.

Principles of Moving Patients
1. Emergency Move
• Performed when patient is in potential danger.

2. Urgent Move
• Used if patient has potentially unstable condition.

3. Non-urgent Move
