Script for Donning and Removing Gloves

*My name is Juvel C. Orquinaza from Group 3 of BSN 1A, I will be


performing the donning and removing sterile Gloves*

The Purposes are:

 To permit the nurse to handle sterile objects freely


 To avoid the risk of contamination from transfer or
microorganisms from the nurse’s hands to the client and
vice versa

The Equipment need for the following procedures are:

 Sterile Gloves of appropriate hand size
 Flat work surface

For Assessment.

1. Prepare and assess hands.


(Papakita yung sterile gloves)
*By Selecting the proper size of gloves and Check the sterile
glove package if its dry and unopened also expiration date if its
still valid ensures sterility of the gloves.*

2. Assess where to place and open the package of sterile


gloves.

For Implementation. DONNING GLOVES

4. Wash hands.
(Papakita na malinis ung kamay at nakaup parin)

5. Open the package of sterile gloves and place the package


of gloves on a clean, dry surface.
(Bubuksan palang)
*Because moisture may contaminate the sterile gloves if the
surface is not dry.

6. Open the inner package to expose the gloves


(Banana peel method opening)
but make sure to only touch the folded tabs
(Hawakan yung balat ng package)
or if there is none, pluck the flaps so that the fingers do
not touch the inner surface.
(Buksan siya pero ung gilid lang flaps, at sa gitna may nakatupi
dun na flap buksan ang package sa gloves hanggang sa bumuka
na)
* To ensure that the inner package and the gloves remains
sterile*
7. Identify the right and left hand; glove the dominant hand
first.
(Pinapakita mo identify mo yung dominant hand)
* Proper identification of gloves prevents contamination by
improper fit. Gloving dominant hand first improves dexterity.*
(Mauunang pasukan ng gloves is right hand bago si left)

8. Grasp the glove for the dominant hand by its folded cuff
edge with the thumb and first two fingers of the non
dominant hand.
(Fold mo yung ring and little finger paran baril na kamay)
(Two fingers at thumb kuhanin mo ung glove)
* Making sure that the unsterile hands touches only the inside
of the gloves keeping the outside sterile.*

9. Insert the dominant hand into the glove and pull the glove
on.
10. Keep the thumb on the inserted hand against the palm
of the hand.
(Nakapasok ung thumb parang sign ng help)
(Ipasok monas a dominant hand )

11. Pick up the other glove with the sterile-gloved hand,


inserting gloved fingers under the cuff.

(Pick up mo at ipasok sa cuff nung sterile ung sterile gloves na


ipapasok sa right hand)

12. Pull on the second glove carefully onto the non


dominant hand. Hold the thumb of the gloved first hand as
far as possible from the palm.
(kamay ng left ay help ulit tas yung thumb nakapasok)
* Inserting upward with unsterile hands may contaminate the
gloves.*
13. Adjust each glove so that it fits smoothly. Carefully pull
the cuffs up by sliding the fingers under the cuffs.

(Inadjust mo ung sterile gloves to sterile gloves)

* To ensure proper fit of gloves and to prevent touching non-


sterile objects

For Implementation. REMOVING GLOVES

14. With the gloved fingers of the dominant, grasp the


palmar surface just below the cuff of the opposite hand.
(Yung right hand mo hahawakan ung baba ng palmar sa left hand
and hihigitin pababa ni right hand pero wag mong dederetsahing
hila hanggang phalanges ng finger lang sapuhin ung removed
glove)
*Proper disposal of the Gloves reduces the risk of transmitting
and contamination of mcroorganism.*

15. Pull the gloved down to the fingers.


(Stay lang sa phalanges finger ung reremove na glove sa left
hand and nakasapo ung removed glove)

16. Slip the uncovered thumb under the opposite gloves of


the wrist while still holding the removed gloved from the
non dominant hand.
(Hold the remove glove di pedeng nakalaylay)

17. Pull the glove over the dominant hand almost to the
fingertips so that only the inside is exposed and the first
removed gloved kept inside.
(Hihilahin mo gamit ng thumb sa kaliwang kamay ung glove sa
right hand tas ipaloob mo ung gloves ng kaliwa)
*To ensure that contaminated areas of the gloves does not
come into contact with the hands or wrists.

18. Disposed the soiled gloves and wash hands.


(Tatapon mona yung gloves ipasok sa dating package)
*to prevent the spread of microorganisms and skin irritation.*
