This script was created after my Final Major Project video to tell the audience how I wanted to create my shots. It is a script about how I captured the different weather changes and how I set up and angled my camera to capture these changes. My intention was to capture a ‘typical’ Spring Day and this I was aiming to achieve via multi location shooting, interchangeable weather patterns and varying light. With this time of year always unsettled and unpredictable, I hope that the final piece I have put together can be argued as my view of a ‘typical’ Spring Day! I rewatched my video and talked about the different experiences I encountered when I was out recording my clips. -------------------------------------------------------------- INT. HOME MORNING (OPENING SCENE IN MY HOUSE RECORDED THOUGH MY BEDROOM WINODW) The scene is set, to capture a typical Spring Day with a beautiful sunrise, filmed from the view of my bedroom window. I positioned the camera so that it pointed up towards the sky to capture the sun rising from behind the houses opposite. EXT. HOME MORNING
INT. BEACH MIDDAY
(CHANGE OF LOCATION, SANDBANKS BEACH) My FMP is centred around Time-lapse and Motion and I wanted to capture water movement. I decided that the best location was to set the camera on the beach and leave it to record. This captured water movement as well as cloud formation. EXT. BEACH MIDDAY
INT. CORNWALL DAY
(CHANGE OF LOCATION, MY HOLIDAY IN CORNWALL – OUTSIDE HILL TOP VIEW AND BLOSSOM TREE) A cold windy but sunny start to the day allowed for some outdoor filming. I positioned the camera to capture from the side of the object to maximise movement, light and best angle - (Note, this was short lived and a change in the weather, quickly saw the winds growing stronger, which in turn changed the temperature in the air. The weather change saw clouds start to form and dramatically build up in the sky, turning it a darker grey and the rain started to pour – quick change of location to indoors!) (CHANGE OF LOCATION, MY HOLIDAY IN CORNWALL – INSIDE COTTAGE) (Note, I was at the advantage of seeing the advancing storm which meant I was able to capture at the right time). I placed the camera to record from the bedroom window of the cottage to give me the best angle to capture the apple tree in full blossom swinging and swaying in the wind and rain (as a note, the final scene captured an unexpected hailstorm, which added to the drama!). EXT. CORNWALL DAY
INT. POOLE PARK AFTERNOON
(CHANGE OF LOCATION, POOLE PARK TREES) I felt it was important to capture an area or location more than once to show change. For these sequences I set up the camera in two locations to capture tree motion and cloud motion from different angles, as well as people movement as they went about their afternoon – This part was challenging as people would stop and stare at the camera, rather than just move though! EXT. POOLE PARK AFTERNOON
INT. GRANDPARENTS HOUSE AFTERNOON
(CHANGE OF LOCATION, GRANDPARENTS HOUSE, BIRD SHOT) I have added this in as an addition as my Grandparents have a lot of birds visit the garden. Setting up my camera in their backroom I was able to capture the birds feeding and watching the camera as well as the changing sky behind them. This addition give more to my theme of motion throughout the day. EXT. GRANDPARENTS HOUSE AFTERNOON
INT. HOME EVENING
(CHANGE LOCATION TO HOME RECORDED OUTSIDE IN MY BACKGARDEN) This final set of clips needs to finish off the day with a beautiful sunset. The camera needed to remain focused on the changing light as well as the cloud movement and this was achieved using a tripod and allowing ample time to capture the final moments of my Spring Day. EXT. HOME EVENING
INT. POOLE PARK EVENING
(CHANGE LOCATION TO POOLE PARK LAKE) Scene returns to a more tranquil weather setting capturing the moments as the water peacefully moves across the lake. The addition of members of the public enjoying the setting sun as they take a stroll or walk the dog reflecting the ending of the working day. EXT. POOLE PARK EVENING
