DistrotAtorney Jefferson County Courthouse» 200 Mata Street «Brookville, PA 15825, tel B14 849 1628» fax B14 B49 1965, FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Jeff Burkett, Jefferson County District Attorney, announces that Douglas Poole, formerly of Punxsutawney and Mahaffey, was'sentenced by Jefferson County Common Pleas Judge John Foradora on May 12" on multiple charges of Rape, Involuntary Deviate Sexual Intercourse, Sexual Assault, Aggravated Indecent Assault and other related sexual assault charges. Judge Foradora handed down an aggregate sentence of 90 to 180 years in a state correctional facility. Burkett stated that he is very pleased with the sentence and the measure of justice that it provided for the victim in the case. “Doug Poole put that young woman through a living hell with his abuse of her. I am thankful that our efforts have allowed her to sleep peacefully at night knowing that Doug Poole will never harm and harass her ever again.” Burkett also thanked his county detectives Jeff Lee, Dave Ray and William Craddock who provided many hours of great investigative work to assist Burkett in getting the case ready for trial. Burkett also thanked Detective Brian Andrekovich of the Punxsutawney Borough Police Department for his work on the case as well. Burkett tried Poole in front of a jury on November 21-22, 2022 where Poole was found guilty of all 61 charges. Attorney Joe Ryan of Reynoldsville served as, Poole’s defense counsel.
