STATEMENT OF PURPOSE

"Does 'the fatal law,' that showy dark crack running down the centre of a life,
exist outside of literature?" or, I suppose, art. I am Dhishitha Tudimilla. I'm a
self-taught artist of seventeen years old. I don't remember much about my
younger days other than a jumble of objects: the school shoes I wore all year,
the water paint all over the soaked papers, the skates near my door, and i
experimented a variety of things including poetry, music and story telling but
art was the only way i could express the most intimate aspects of myself. i was
academically strong student and was also quite involved in extracurricular
activities. Finding appealing active roles, I always sought to take the initiative
in group endeavours. I enjoyed it. I liked to read- R.L. Stine, Lemony Snicket-
and my interest in literature and the Greeks deepened. My notebooks were
filled with drawings rather than actual notes. The bag I carried had more novels
than textbooks. the deepening appreciation for books and art made me realize,
they were inextricably linked, and my enthusiasm for both grew with each new
book and piece of artwork. I became captivated not only by the stories, but
also by the descriptions of the characters and their surroundings, which
sparked my imagination, and I began to visualize these characters in my mind's
eye, bringing them to life through my art. Altering art and then sharing it in the
most impactful way with a community of people intrigued me. I am excited to
take my skills to the next level by pursuing a college degree in this field.
Through my experiences and coursework, I have come to appreciate the
importance of visual communication in our modern world. One of the aspects
of graphic designing that intrigues me the most is the opportunity to use
design to convey complex ideas and emotions. In addition to my academic
pursuits, I am also committed to using my design skills to make a positive
impact on society. I believe that graphic design has the power to bring people
together and promote positive change, and I am excited to continue pursuing
these goals throughout my college years and beyond. After research, I find
woxsen university's curriculum appropriate to fulfil my interests and reach my
goals. The college provides plenty of research opportunities for undergraduate
students that align with my interests, I believe have the potential and aspects
to apply for a place at WOXSEN and see no reason why should opt for any
second-best alternative. A degree from WOXSEN would certainly lay the
foundations of my goals and will open doors to interesting places in the future
once I earn it. I believe my potential can be honed and nurtured into something
beautiful at WOXSEN. I feel the communication design course at WOXEN will
prepare me for future possibilities and help me enhance my abilities.
