    The Necklace

    One of the important themes of this story is greed. This is represented by Matilde.
    Matilde comes from a poor family; however, she married Monsieur Loise, who belonged to a
    stable social position. Matilde had great consequences due to longing for power, money and
    having material things. So much so, that she borrowed a necklace from her friend to pretend to
    have money at a party. In life we don’t need to live up with appearances and we needed to be
    grateful for finding the well in each one.
