SOME OF THE IMPORTANT INFORMATIONS THAT YOU NEED TO REVIEW:

According to Arlien Johnson, “community refers to a group of people gathered together in any geographic area, large
or small, who have common interest, actual or potentially recognized in the social welfare field.”
Community immersion is an essential strategy in community organizing work that entails understanding of the different
community concerns, process, dynamics and lifestyle through exposure and engaging in different activities.
Trainees should immerse in actual community life to get to know the social, political and economic situation of the
people.
Trainees may also undergo certain changes like increase in knowledge about the social realities, development of good
values, empathy towards other people, and improvement of social skills among others.
Social Interaction is not belong to the Elements of a Community.
Community Needs Assessment is the first step in designing and developing an effective community project or program.
Survey is general view, examination, or description of someone or something.
Community Needs Assessment is a process used to determine the needs of individuals or a group of individuals in
order to design a program that will response effectively top the needs and bring about desired changes in behaviour.
Report is the summary of the information gathered in the neighbourhood.
Identify is one of the steps in conducting a community needs assessment which focus on finding  potential solutions
and areas for growth.
Generate is the third and final step in in conducting a community needs assessment.
Community Needs Assessment is both a process and a method. As a process, it can build leadership, group unity, and a
sense of local involvement in the community.
Interview is a meeting at which information is obtained.
Focus Group is a demographically diverse group of people assembled to participate in a guided discussion about a
particular product before it is launched.
Secondary Data Analysis refers to the use of existing research data to find answer to a question that was different from
the original work.
Assets mapping is creating a map of the resources and skills of individuals, groups and organisations within a pre-
defined boundary.
Action Plan is a proposed strategy or course of action.
Strategy is a plan of action or policy designed to achieve a major or overall aim.
Policy is course or principle of action adopted or proposed by a government, party, business, or individual.
Needs is expressing necessity or obligation in a Community.
Community Engagement is the process of working collaboratively with and through groups of people affiliated by
geographic proximity, special interest, or similar situations to address issues affecting the well-being of those people. It
is a powerful vehicle for bringing about environmental and behavioural changes.
Community engagement can take many forms, and partners can include organized groups, agencies, institutions, or
individuals. Collaborators may be engaged in health promotion, research, or policy making.
Concepts of Community are insights that provide understanding into the process of community engagement. Some of
these are Systems Perspective, Social Perspective, Virtual Perspective, And Individual Perspective.
Community organization is a process.
Community organization should be based on community needs.
In the Community organization process the resources can be classified into two: internal and external

The primary object of community development is to promote, sustain, support and maintain community action.
