Biodegradable pots made of bioplastic

and banana peels
What is it about?
The plastic pots are often used for growing plants as they are lightweight, In partnership with:
inexpensive, and durable. However the plastic pots are made of inert material and
thus non-biodegradable. Inappropriate disposal of the plastic pot would contaminate
the environment. An alternative way of reducing the usage of plastic pot is to
generate biodegradable pot that made of plasticizer (glycerol) and solid wastes.

Why is it important?
Two types of biodegradable pots were produced using di erent ratios of
biomaterials (B) and banana peels (BP). The ratios of B to BP tested in this study were
B50%: BP50% and B30%: BP 70%. Our ndings show the lower content of banana
peels decreased the tensile strength of biodegradable pot to be lled with soil and
the biodegradable pot B50%:BP50% highly decomposed.

Perspectives

The biomaterial pot is more environmental friendly and economically attractive

alternatives for traditional plastic pots.
