Good day, pupils! Welcome to Mathematics class! How are you?
Before we start our lesson, let us first pray.
In the name of the Father, of the Son, and of the Holy
Spirit, Amen.

Angel of God, my guardian dear, to whom God’s love

commits me here, ever this day be at my side, to light and
guard, to rule and guide. Amen.

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the

Holy Spirit, Amen.

We count things most of the time. That is why we need to know the
different ways of counting. We count the fingers of our hands. We count
things and people in equal groups. We count classmates in pairs.
Sometimes they are grouped in fives or tens. Counting ones takes a long
time. That is why we need to know different ways of counting faster.

LET’S EXPLORE
✔ A number tells how many.
✔ You count using numbers.
✔ The numbers can be written in words and in symbols called
numerals.

Can you now read the number word and color the matching numeral
below?

3
After finishing your Spring Number Word. Look at your September
calendar at home.
1. Is it similar to the one attached at the right?

__________________________________________
2. Can you count them? How many are the numbers?

__________________________________________

Let us take a look at the numbers from 11 to 20 in numerals and in words.

Numeral Word
11 eleven
12 twelve The names for tens are:
13 thirteen
14 fourteen
15 fifteen
16 sixteen
17 seventeen
18 Eighteen
19 nineteen
20 twenty
Numeral Word

20 twenty
30 thirty
40 forty
50 fifty
60 sixty
70 seventy
80 eighty
90 ninety

REMEMBER
So, 31 is read as thirty-one. When writing number words from 21-99, we put
together the names of tens and the ones using hyphen(-).
So, 21 is written as twenty-one and 99 is written as ninety-nine.
4
Let’s Practice!
Write inside the box the numeral for each number word.

sixty-six

forty-two

thirty- nine

twenty-five

seventy-four

Now, let us try writing the number word for each numeral. Write it on the
line provided below.

A. 21 - ______________________________________________________________
B. 54 - ______________________________________________________________
C. 35 - ______________________________________________________________
D. 78 - ______________________________________________________________
E. 67 - ______________________________________________________________

Now, look at the children dancing. The boys and girls are dancing. They are
dancing by pairs. Answer the questions at the right.

a. How many pairs of children are

dancing?

___________________________

b. How many children are dancing

in all?

____________________________
5
You can count the dancing children easily by counting them in pairs or by
twos (2s).
Example 2, 4, 6, 8, 10.

Can you now count the children dancing by 2s? Count it out loud and tell
it to your parents. Counting by 2s is a faster way of counting. Counting by
a certain number other than 1 is called skip counting. You jump over
numbers to make counting.

Can you now help

the bee so that it
can go to its
beehive? Use the
skip counting by 2s.
Color the numbers
yellow.

5
Count by group of 5

10 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30

Six 5s = 30
15

20

25

30

For many objects to count it takes some time to count them. To make
counting faster, you can regroup them by 5s.

6
Write the missing number in the popsicle using counting by 5s.

Now that you have learned different ways to count. Can you now
complete the table below?

7
In this part you will be a little performer. With the help of your
parent/guardian take a video while performing.
You are going to sing while counting 0-100, please feel free to use
materials that can be found at home. You may also use musical
instruments while performing.
You may send your videos on our LMS.

Points Criteria
8-10 Mastery – has a mastery in counting 0-100
1-3 Vocal tone quality – Sang the chosen piece
4-7 Performance delivery – performed the piece enthusiastically
and creatively
20 Total points

8
If you still need more examples about the topic, look for
educational websites. You may use the key phrase “counting 0-
100” for search engines on the Internet and other websites.

Supplementary video lectures are also uploaded on our LMS.

Ask your guardian for help.
