Are you with or against working in the

private sector?
By: Sarah Al-Feky

Working in the private sector poses a lot of difficulties, such

as inhumane treatment, high stress levels, and financial
insecurity.

The Employees who have private jobs are maltreated on

many levels. For example, a middle-aged man working in a
company located in Egypt called Teleperformance fell to his
death after his supervisor denied his request for a raise as the
man used to go to the bath multiple times a day because of
him being diabetic. In addition, employees receive low salary
and work for long hours and no matter how hard they work,
their hard work will usually be unappreciated.

Private jobs can be really stressful. The company keeps a

record of each and every employee's performance. Those with
poor performance receive negative feedback and may well
receive warnings about your performance, or if your work
requires oversight or often needs to be re-done, Moreover,
employees struggle to meet tight deadlines as you are assigned
to finish a great amount of work in so little time, which is a
good enough reason for them to panic.
This kind of jobs are insecure. Managers feel entitled to
dismiss any employee that they believe is not a good
investment for their company. Thus, employees are
dispensable and can lose their jobs anytime. Furthermore, a
great many of private jobs don't offer any type of healthcare
insurance coverage. Without insurance, employees have to
pay for their medical bills out of pocket, which could cripple
your business and put their livelihood at risk.
