Product Data Sheet

BASF DurasorbTM HD
BASF DurasorbTM is a family of products developed in combination with proprietary
system design software to complement each other for the purification of Natural Gas
streams. Based on the long and successful history of BASF Sorbead® for
hydrocarbon and water dewpointing, BASF DurasorbTM products are designed to
work together to provide optimum solutions for the most difficult gas processing
conditions, including retrofit of existing units.

Product Applications
Typical Properties
DurasorbTM HD is a water-resistant aluminosilicate 97 wt % SiO2
gel adsorbent with high capacity for impurities. Chemical Composition 3 wt % Al2O3
DurasorbTM HD is used as an active adsorbent
layer in LNG and NGL pre-treatment applications. Equilibrium Capacity for 4 wt % at 10 % R.H.
Water Vapor at 25˚ C 36 wt % at 80 % R.H.
DurasorbTM HD is in the form of hard, spherical
beads, with a very high resistance to crushing and Packed Bulk Density 0.67 kg/l
a low attrition rate. DurasorbTM HD is resistant to
damage from liquid water and hydrocarbon carry- Crush Strength 130 N
over events. These properties provide a robust
material, resulting in longer bed life and reduced Attrition Rate <0.1 wt %
operating costs.

hydrothermal aging and low regeneration
temperature, making it ideal for applications where
retrograde condensation and refluxing occur during Typical distribution of grain size
adsorbent regeneration. Due to these unique
properties, the use of DurasorbTM HD increases the − 2.0 – 5.0 mm
overall reliability of the system.
Packaging
DurasorbTM HD is used in combination with other
products in the Durasorb™ portfolio to create a
custom-tailored installation that ensures most − 750 kg(1,653 lbs) Big bag
efficient removal of heavy hydrocarbons and water − 130 kg (287 lbs) Steel drum
