Please Note:
• If the magnet is positioned over the head pulley, the pulley shell should be
manufactured from non-magnetic stainless steel, so as to prevent it from being
magnetically induced by the suspended magnet. If the belt speed is greater than
2,5m/s, the Inline magnet is recommended. This is to allow the tramp iron to be
attracted and be removed from the product stream, as it leaves the head pulley.
• Although we have sized the best possible magnet for the application, no magnet will
remove 100% of the tramp iron found on the conveyor belts.
• Manganese content of more than 12% in crusher jaws and picks could render
the steel non-magnetic.
• No magnet will be able to remove a metal particle, if it is underneath a 250mm
lump size.

Magnets will be loaded onto your free issued trucks, no securing chains allowed for!
TERMS & CONDITIONS: As per Eriez Magnetics (S.A.) (Pty) Ltd. Terms and Conditions

EXCLUSIONS: We have not allowed for the following in this quotation:

1. Transport to port / site.
2. Containers, packing, lashing and the loading thereof.
3. Site off loading.
4. Installation or erection.
5. Electrical cables connecting up thereof.
6. Tramp iron chutes.
7. Starter for self-cleaning belt drive motor.
8. Structural Steelwork.
9. Third Party Inspections.
10. Border Taxes, Duties and Clearance costs.
11. Anything not specifically mentioned.
TERMS OF PAYMENT: If order is placed by SENET - Nett 30 days from date of invoice.
If order placed by end user, 50% deposit with order placement and
balance due prior to dispatch.

ESCALATION: The prices quoted will remain fixed and will not be subject to escalation provided
an order is placed within the quotation validity period of 30 days, and will be
subject to confirmation in writing thereafter.
CANCELLATION CLAUSE:
After order placement – no material ordered 10% Contract value.
On material purchase 50% Contract value.
In manufacturing stage / process 75% Contract value.
On completion of job prior to shipment 100% Contract value
LOCAL CONTENT: The equipment offered is 100% local Republic of South African manufacture.
QUALITY: A FAT (Factory Acceptance Test) is performed on all equipment, prior to

release for despatch.
WARRANTY: We guarantee our equipment against faulty workmanship and materials for a
period of 12 months.
This guarantee excludes the self-cleaning belts, for the amount of wear on them
is proportional to the quantity and nature of the tramp iron removed.
We guarantee our magnet coil (the most expensive part of a magnet) for a period
of 36 months, provided the magnet is operated in accordance with our
recommendations.
VALIDITY: 30 days from date hereof.

TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS
SERIES 7000 ERIEZ ELECTRO SUSPENDED MAGNETS
1. Eriez Electro Suspended Magnets are oil filled and cooled to help prevent loss of magnetic
intensity due to heat build-up.
2. Dust, moisture and heat, all detrimental to electro-magnets, are effectively controlled by the
external oil expansion tank design which ensures that the coils are always covered with
cooling oil. (Standard transformer oil is used and the magnets are supplied complete with
the recommended quantity.) The oil does not require replacing.
3. The coils are space wound of double glass insulated or Nomex aluminium wire (Class H
insulation) with non-deteriorating glastic spacers for better heat dissipation and higher
operating efficiency.
4. The magnets are of robust construction and are furnished with stainless steel wear plates to
prevent damage to and to ensure long life of the magnet faces.
5. Self-cleaning Units have belts of Class 315 2-ply material with rubber “T” sections bonded to
the surface. (The “T” sections are instrumental in wiping the magnet face of tramp iron.)
The belts are 8mm thick and joined with stainless steel minet fasteners.
6. The pulleys would be robustly constructed of welded construction with heavy-duty bearings
and Bikon bushes.
7. Drive would be from a shaft mounted SEW Motor onto a SEW gearbox.
OPTIONAL EXTRAS
a) To prevent large and irregular tramp iron from damaging the self-cleaning belts, the belt
could be reinforced by 25mm square Chevron rubber sections bonded to the belt surface.

RECTIFIER / TRANSFORMER
These would be of solid-state silicon-diode type with Air cooled transformer. The control
panel is manufactured from powder coated 3CR12 Stainless Steel, Orange in colour, IP65 rated,
not certified and would comprise on/off and isolation switches and D.C. volt and amp meters.
Control panel instrumentation is WEG / Zest based (Eriez standard). The unit is not I.P. certified
but is suited for outside conditions. Transformer has tap settings ± 5%.
The lower transformer housing is manufactured from 300Wa Mild Steel with a sight glass for oil
level monitoring. (If required, provision for interlocking the main conveyors to the magnets would
be made.)
The rectifier / transformer should not be installed further than 15m away, to minimize power loss
in the DC cabling.
