1- Height of the castle

The physicist wanted to reach the top of the highest tower of the enemy castle. To do
this, he took a piece of wood with a length of LENGTH1.1 m. Knowing that the length of
the shadow of the piece of wood is LENGTH1.2 m, what is the height of the castle if it
took him TIME1.1 seconds to travel the entire length of the shadow of the castle at a
speed of SPEED1.1 km/h.
2- Distance from the castle

In order to know the exact distance from the castle, a member of the army of Mathurin,
Lydio DuVillage succeeded in forming the image of the castle on a screen using a
system of 2 concave mirrors as illustrated below. As the knight planned to put his
catapult exactly where mirror 1 is installed, determine the distance between mirror 1 and
the castle.

Knowing that mirror 1 has a focal length of FOCAL2.1m and that mirror 2 has a focal
length of FOCAL2.2m, that the screen is separated from mirror 2 by a distance of
DISTANCE2.1m, and that the image on the screen has a height of HEIGHT2.1m, what
distance separates the mirror 1 from the castle? (Consider that the mirrors are aligned,
the angles are not important.)

3- First throw
To attack the castle, Mathurin's ally, King Francus de Beaux, sovereign and protector of
Gotham, designed a cannonball with a mass of MASS3.1kg using a spring whose spring
constant is CONSTANT3.1N/m . He compressed the spring over a distance of
DISTANCE3.1m. Knowing that the ball was propelled on an inclined plane placed
directly on the ground having an angle of ANGLE3.1° and that the length of the inclined
plane is LENGTH3.1m, how far did the ball travel?
4- Construction of a lens system
It would seem that Lydio DuVillage's mirror system could not determine the exact
distance between the catapult and the castle of these unholy chemists. Lady Ariane,
Duchess of the Rock, therefore decided to build a system of lenses to determine very
exactly the distance between the catapult and the castle. To do this, they suspended a
lens with a mass of MASS4.1kg from two ropes hung from trees as shown in the image
below. What is the tension in the strings if angle 1 is ANGLE4.1° and angle 2 is
ANGLE4.2°.

5- Construction of a lens system (part 2)

Here is some information regarding the suspended lens:
- The hanging lens is SHAPE5.1
- It is made of glass (n=1.52).
- Its two radii are RADIUS5.1cm and RADIUS5.2cm.
The physicists then juxtaposed a lens with a vergence of VERGENCE5.1δ and installed
a screen at DISTANCE5.1m from the lens system to observe the castle. How far is the
castle from the lens?

End of part 1
6- Go back for the ball
Unfortunately, the ball used during the first test ended up at the bottom of a pond, right in
the middle of it, and Steve had to go get it. Knowing that he measured HEIGHT6.1m,
that he was at DISTANCE6.1m from the center of the pond and at DISTANCE6.2m from
the edge of the pond, how far must he lower his pole, to recover the ball, if he rests it on
the edge of the pond?

7- Second attempt to throw

As the army of physics failed to reach the castle the first time, Mathurin modified the
catapult a bit by dropping the ball down a slope of DISTANCE7.1m at an angle of
ANGLE7.1° and then throwing it using a spring. The spring has a spring constant of
CONSTANT7.1N/M and is compressed over a distance of DISTANCE7.2m. Upon full
extension of the spring, the ball was catapulted at an angle of ANGLE7.2° from the
horizontal. What was the range of the ball?
8- The final attack
Physicists having finally found a suitable range, they then had a genius idea! Thanks to
their sidekick, the famous Viking Yérienk Unsallot, they decided to install the catapult on
the mountain which was at a distance of DISTANCE8.1m from the castle. If the ball was
catapulted under the same conditions as in the previous test, how high was the
mountain if the ball hit the castle tower exactly in the middle?

9- Tower Damage 1
At what angle from the horizontal did the ball hit the tower?

10- Tower Damage 2

How fast did the ball hit the tower?

11- Tower Damage 3

How much energy was transmitted to the tower during the impact of the ball?

End of part 2
12- The observers
This epic war between a clearly superior nation (physics) and what could be considered
a thorn under one's feet (chemistry) was clearly worth watching, which is why three
aliens (Dr Zoidberg, Groot and Roger) were then in orbit exactly above the battlefield.
Knowing that the speed of their spacecraft was SPEED12.1m/s, at what altitude was the
spacecraft orbiting?

13- The run

Following the destruction of the castle tower, the Countess of Alexandria, Lady of
Bendoval surrendered, but, as a coward, the magician of chemists, Queen Marie-Anne,
known as Queen of Comets, then tried to save herself. Chasing him, Mathurin crossed 3
rooms respectively. The first two contain vials that emit red and blue light. What color did
each piece of clothing appear in the last room if it is lit by white vials? (You know every
piece of clothing is either blue, red, yellow or white)
In the red room:
Pants look RED1.
The shirt is RED2.
The polka dots on the shirt are RED3.

In the blue room:

The pants are BLUE1.
The shirt is BLUE2.
The polka dots on the shirt are BLUE3.
14- The pursuit
Running out of options, the magician decided to flee into the woods. Anticipating his
flight, King Francus of Beaux, ruler and protector of Gotham and Lady Ariane, Duchess
of the Rock, made the decision to go directly to the most plausible hiding place: the
house of the chemist's mother. Knowing that the path to get from the castle to his
mother's house takes the following directions, and that the chemist runs at a speed of
SPEED14.1km/h, at what speed did the physicists run if they arrived in same time as the
mage and they went straight through the woods, in a straight line?

Directions
DISTANCE14.1km at ANGLE14.1° to POINT14.1 from POINT14.2.
DISTANCE14.2 to POINT14.3-POINT14.4
DISTANCE14.3 at ANGLE14.2° at POINT14.5 from POINT14.6

15- Capturing
Almost arrived at his mother's house, the magician saw Francus, lady Ariane and
Mathurin while he was at DISTANCE15.1m from them. He then fled in the opposite
direction. Their horses then began to gallop at a speed of SPEED15.1km/h. When
Mathurin was at a distance of DISTANCE15.2m from the scoundrel, he threw his lasso
at a speed of SPEED15.2m/s (while still galloping). In all, how long did the capture last
from the moment the chemist saw our heroes?
