The champion's fork

XC | MARATHON RACE | AXON RC
The AXON fork is our state of the art racing fork. The Axon has been
the focus of continuous technological advances during its life-cycle,
benefitting from magnesium lowers, hollow forged crowns, the
electrical lockout system and the patented Q-LOC quick release thru
axle system.
Our latest development is another giant leap forward in terms of the
inner damping technology as well as the outer design. The bottom case
is made of carbon which saves about 63g and the new cartridge system
saves another 60g. In total we tip the scales at a mere 1500 g including
the new Q-loc titanium axle (69g). The AXON RC carbon suspension fork
is also available with CTS (conical tapered steerer).
All our technological pioneering is race proven; the AXON RC fork, is

currently being used by our French XC champion and World Cup leader
in U23 category Julie Bresset from the BH SRSUNTOUR team.
A motor actuator within the rightside stanchion of the fork locks or unlocks the
compression. It needs 0,5 sec to switch to ON or OFF position. The battery and
the controller (brain) are within the steerer. The battery type is Lithium CR 123A.
The controller (brain) has a vibration sensor which automatically switches off
the electric flow, if during 5 minutes no shock has been given to the fork. The
lifetime of the battery is approx. 50.000 switches.

is one of my most avid supporters, and I simply love it how he adds to the vibe at the races,
cheering for me.
BRESSET Season after season, I have had the chance to improve as a racer in national and international
races. At the start of the 2010 campaign I joined the BH SRSuntour team to have the best team
support in France. My season has been incredible, with four World Cup victories in under
the 23 category and ever present in the top 6 at scratch. At Val d’isère, in front of my family, I
World Cup XC became the French National Champion...what huge emotion! The team is very well organized
and they have all the resources I need to be as competitive as possible. This year my mountain
BH SRSUNTOUR TEAM bike choice has been BH’s Ultimate model, which is quite a big change for me as it’s the first
time I've ridden on a full-carbon frame with an integrated seatpost. This makes for a very
rigid yet extremely effective frame both when cruising at high speeds and when accelerating.

Four-cross racing is getting more and more professional. To be a
top contender in the World Cup, the set up of my bike has to be
perfect every time. Light, versatile, super stiff and reliable are the
key points for all the bike components. The AXON Q-LOC 15mm
meets those criteria perfectly. Whether the track is flat and smooth
World Cup 4X / BMX (80mm travel) or steep and rough (up to 120mm travel), this fork
brings me to the finish line fast and safely.

5 years after my previous World Cup win in Brazil, I finally
managed to be on the top spot of the podium again this year in Val
di Sole/Italy. After winning the Qualifying for the first time in my
career, the stage was set for an exciting race day. During all the
hard rounds and tough battles, the AXON helped my front wheel
stick to the ground. What a great weekend!

The smart fork

Smart things are versatile, we all know it from our electronical

gadgets. Smart also characterises highly optimized products
which meet our requirements perfectly.
The EPICON is a fork which can justifiably called smart. Built on
the 32mm stanchion platform the fork parts are as lightweight
as our cross country forks. The TAD travel adjuster offers travel
from 100mm up to 150mm which comfortably fits to All Mountain
full suspension bikes. Equipped with the Q-LOC 15mm system the
EPICON accomodates lighter wheels without losing stiffness.
The optional CTS steerer also gives enormous stiffness without
adding ridiculous weight.
The EPICON is an Alpcross proven fork on climbs as well as on
decents by weighing well under the 2kg mark. Whatsmore the
EPICON is also available as 29" version, equipped with the same
features as its 26" brothers.

Switzerland. It was the first time for all
of us, so everybody was excited. We
were lucky with the weather and the
trails were just perfect.
After four hours steep uphill climbing
we stopped by in this little restaurant
for lunch. We got delicous Swiss
Alpen-food leaving everybody was
ready to destroy elevation, the trails
down the hill were so much fun to ride
we had to force ourdelves to stop to
take pictures. I`m glad we took these
pictures as you can tell!

The Megavalanche fork

ENDURO | ALL MOUNTAIN | MEGAVALANCHE | DUROLUX TAD CTS
Which category of riding does Megavalanche fall under? Basically it's

riding down a big mountain from the glacier to the bottom of the valley
but having said that, it's not as aggressive as world cup downhill. It's
much more extended and diversified than a World Cup Downhill, with
several climbs featuring along the course. So...why is the Durolux
fork perfect for this kind of ride? The fork's travel (max. 180mm) offers
enough of a safety buffer for big hits on the rocky section after the
glacier. The new RCA cartridge offers you the perfect set up for big
hits as well as high speed single trails. The TAD travel adjuster will
help you to reduce the travel on the climbing section and you'll hardly
notice the weight (approx 2300g) on the climbs. And in case you get
bummed by a puncture, you'll be the fastest to replace the tube thanks
to the button boosted QLOC quick release.
The fork is available with a CTS conical tapered steerer as well as
with 1.5 steerer. Our French young gun Loic Bruni has won the Junior's
class of the Megavalanche on the Durolux fork, 3 years in a row.

enough to straddle their mountain bike
at 3000 metres above sea level and cross
glacier, rocky trails and alpine meadows
but for others you need the additional 200
competitors to make it truly adventurous;
we're taling...Megavalanche.
Alpe d’Huez carries legendary status

with cycling enthusiasts mainly for
mountain top finishes in the Tour de
France. Mountain bikers are a bit
different however: If they hear the
name of the French ski resort, they think
Megavalanche. This classic long-distance
downhill race attracted more than 2000
particcipants from more than 31 countries
this year.
The Mégavalanche course is extremely

demanding for the riders. Directly after
the start on the Pic Blanc at 3300 metres
above sea level there’s a power-sapping
section across the Sarenne glacier
which stretches out the field early on in
the race. The course then runs through
some wildly rocky terrain, onto alpine
tracks and finally snakes into single trails
through the forest to the finish line.
After 30 lung busting kilometres, a total of

2600 muscle burning vertical metres and
a draining hour, the riders reach the finish
in Allemont. And whatever position they
finish in, every single one of them who
finishes justifiably feels like a winner.

Dirt jump forks have a hard life. When you pull off your first big
trick on dirt or in the skate park you'll throw your bike away in
celebration. If you fail, you'll throw it in disgus. Either way the
fork always suffers, regardless of whether it's a clean huge
gap or your first ever table jump. But you'll never hear your fork
complaining. We've invested countless hours in the design and
engineering of the new Duo DJ dirt jump fork; especially made for
all the requirements of our "duro" dirt jump team.
The low profile preload adjuster makes sure there is no collision
danger with the down tube while spinning your handlebar. We've
reinforced the crown area and the fork brace with the all new
magnesium monocoque bottom case design and we've even
shaved off weight (not that it was necessary).
The duro DJ is also equipped with the QLOC thru axle system.
By the way: have a coin with you...you'll need them for our low-
profile preload adjuster.

The SR SUNTOUR DURO team riders

are all a bit on the crazy side, whether
it’s DJ, slope-style or street/urban.
Our motivation behind supporting the
SR SUNTOUR DURO team is to give
young, talented riders the means to
develop both their skills as a rider and
themselves as rounded personalities,
equipping them for the life of a
pro rider. In addition we support
established professional riders like
Marius Hoppensack, Thomas Öhler
and Felix Rosendahl by equipping
them with the tools they need to
push themselves and the sport to
the limits. It goes without saying that
the riders play a key role in product
development by giving rider feedback
on the latest developments.
The DURO Team is divided into two

sections; the SR SUNTOUR DURO
ROOKIES team which features Andi

People would classify the Raidon X1 as an "intermediate" fork in

terms of the price level, but you will quickly realise it's surprisingly
well equipped. Using some mutual parts taken from its high-end
brothers, the Raidon offers features such as the hydraulic remote
speed lock-out, the new rebound damping adjuster, a magnesium
monocoque bottom case with Q-LOC axle and a 29" option.
Oh... and we almost forgot to mention, this is an air suspension
fork. The fork travel is convertible from 80, 100, 120 to even 140
mm (option). The Raidon X1 is ideal for XC races as well as for All
Mountain tours.

forks and at the same time we're continuously upgrading our

THE
As we returned to Delle Alpi, sweaty and exhausted from our Lu-
gano trip, all hell had broken lose. Earlier that morning our base had
been a sleepy little hotel nestling at the foot of the Monte Tamaro;
CROSS
now it was host to a Rally-Cross. Brightly painted rockets with their
roaring engines and flame spitting exhausts were everywhere, not
to mention the beer tents, team pavilions and taped off ‘no go’
OVER
zones; the technical area was directly in front of the hotel entrance.
Drivers, mechanics, officials and motor sport fans scurried back-
wards and forwards as we, loaded with all our gear, tried to push
our way through the chaos and back into the hotel.

The ‘we’ in all this is the camera crew and the SRSuntour Duro
team: the Swiss 4x riders Roger Rinderknecht and Adrian Kiener, the
Street-Duo from the Harz area Ludwig Jäger and Philipp Block and
JECT
last but not least Dortmund’s Big-Dirt talent Felix Rosendahl.
Definitely not marketing driven pin-ups, the SRSuntour Duro Team
riders are just great lads with bags of talent and commitment work-
ing alongside SRSuntour at the heart of product development.
The idea behind the trip was to go riding together as a team, (what
else?) discover the Swiss mountains whilst checking out some new
SRSUNTOUR DURO team spots and have some people along for the ride who know how to
use cameras.
and WERX team on a Well…showered and changed we met up at the lakeside keen to
video & photo road trip go though the pictures and clips of the sessions. Laptops opened,
memory cards loaded, the riders huddled around to review the day:
at Monte Tamaro First, bright and early, we hit the Slope style course at Monte
Ticino Switzerland Tamaro. The whole course is shaped out of gravel. Made lose and
dusty by the blistering June sun, the spot proved difficult to ride.
Felix, who is of course at home on dirt, got to grips with the course

spite his success, even Felix threw in the towel (his helmet into the

bushes actually) after a second puncture and an unlucky landing. Up

to this point the lads had given it their all and laid down some tricky
moves but even Ludwig and Philipp had eventually had enough of
the spot:”…flat wide take-offs and short steep landings, who the hell
would think of that?” moaned Philipp.
The lads hurried off to check out the skate park as the mid-day sun
continued to burn down; the mercury was already nudging past 30
degrees by 11:30am but we already had enough ‘money shots’ in
the can. Roger and Adrian had been on the lower sections of the
downhill course in the forest for a while with the film team and so
we packed our gear together and headed off into forest to join them.
We found Roger and Adrian as the trail snaked between boulders
and trees; finally we had some shade. The film crew had set up a
monkey-slide but the timing of the runs was difficult. Time and again
Roger and Adrian pushed their bikes back up to the top and stood
waiting coolly, although their sweaty faces told you how strenuous
it all was. The rest of us either watched or helped out by pulling
the camera team back along the rope. Roger and Adrian continued
to race down through the trees and boulders as the cameraman
whizzed by over the heads eventually calling out: “Gestorben!” The
scene was in the can.
At two-ish we were in Lugano, minus Roger and Adrian; they’d
stayed on the mountain with their fullys. After a quick trip to a
supermarket to stock up on snacks and drinks, we set off for the
skate park. It took a while until a passerby was able to direct us to
the park, and as it turned out we’d been a few hundred yards away
all along.
As the camera equipment was being set up the lads rolled out
around the curves. It goes without saying that Ludwig and Philip
(the streeters) were now in their element but also Felix, more used

to Dirt than concrete, was taken with the spot. The lads wasted no
time and were soon sparring: inverted table-tops in the quarter,
540 foot-jam, tail-whip to tail-jab, foot-jam tail-whip, always higher,
more and more extension and all this under the unrelenting mid-day
sun. Time for a breather!
We took refuge under the shade of tree with a 12-pack of ice cream
lollies, but the ice cream was melting faster than we could eat
and we were just starting to regret buying so many when Ludwig
stepped up and polished off the final five.
Philipp’s arms and neck were already showing signs of sun-burn
but everyone wanted to keep going. “This is the best concrete bowl
we’ve ever ridden” they all agreed. So, on we went. Looking at the
photos now on the terrace we realized that with the setting sun the
light conditions for the pictures got better and better at the same
time as the riding. Just killers – no fillers!
Dusk had settled in and the Rally-Cross was packing up. Fairy lights
strung out over the tables made the most of the remains of the day.
As the second round of beers arrived so too did Roger, Adrian and
the film crew. Roger looked deeply satisfied but said nothing. It was
Adrian who explained as we watched the film. After the Tamaro trail
session they’d gone on to the Contra-Staumauer which is home to
Europe’s highest bungee jump at 220m. This is where they filmed
the bungee jump for the James Bond film ‘Golden Eye’. And yes…
Roger had jumped. As we watched the evidence on film it looked
like Roger bungeed daily; a clean outward jump, arms and legs out
wide, he fell and fell becoming just a tiny dot. It was his first ever
jump. “Man, weren’t you afraid?” “Yeah I was well worried.”

The lads explained to and fro from their experiences as they went
through the pictures and clips and planned for the days ahead.
Adrian knew of some monster dirt trails near Bern, the biggest he
knew of Switzerland. Felix excitedly asked “How big?” “Really big?”
Adrian nodded accordingly. Felix: “We have to go. Lads, we must
absolutely go!”

Racing technology on the road

700C SPORT CROSS | NRX
Sport cross is the combination of high speed road cycling and

cyclocross like trail riding. Though it's not officially a 'competition
category' of cycling you're nevertheless keen to go fast and that's
why you're looking for high-end technology in the fork. All the
features such as the electric lock out system, the hollow forged
crown and the new adjustable rebound damping cartridge are
race proven technologies.
A motor actuator within the rightside stanchion of the fork locks or unlocks the
compression. It needs 0,5 sec to switch to ON or OFF position. The battery and
the controller (brain) are within the steerer. The battery type is Lithium CR 123A.
The controller (brain) has a vibration sensor which automatically switches off
the electric flow, if during 5 minutes no shock has been given to the fork. The
lifetime of the battery is approx. 50.000 switches.

The new NCX fork design concept is based on the philosophy of

integrating all the features into a one piece look; you won't find any
exposed add-ons. The lamp holder is hidden in the fork brace and the
top caps for the lockout system and air chamber are integrated into
the crown shape. Even the cable routing is hidden out of view behind
the bottom case. The NCX II model is compatible with Shimano's 8mm
E-thru axle system.

The no-suspension look

700C URBAN CITY | SWING SHOCK
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and for a significant group of bikers
the rigid fork is an object of beauty. They adore the sleek looks and simple
lines inherent in its design. They accept the rock-hard riding feeling just
to preserve the look of their bike (not because they're masochists).
Our design team set themselves the task of winning these 'hardliners'
over. They had to create a suspension fork which would convince the
rigid fork fans with a sleek and slim design coupled with suspension
comfort. The result was the award-winning Swing Shock fork. The 30 mm
of travel absorbs the main hits from cobblestones, sidewalk curbs, little
stairs and potholes. The rigid construction allows better acceleration
whilst pedaling and the fork weight of around 1400 g is 200g under the
lightest standard suspension fork. The low built-in-height allows rigid fork
replacement without changing the original bike geometry.
