most common types of financial analysis performed by professionals will be covered
during this module.

Marketing and Research

Students are introduced to the basic models of marketing and understand
its purpose in today’s business environment. The principal theories and
practices of marketing will be discussed. Participants will be exposed to
how marketing builds value to the organisation and the clients.
The overall exposition of marketing research principles and basics of
market research practices will be introduced. Students will also go through

respective data is gathered and analysed.

Managing data and its implications


ECTS 8

In this module, participants will study common data management tools


used in business, most of which process personal data. Throughout this
module students will come across different tools used by different
departments within an organisation such as the HR, Marketing as well as
the IT department and go to the pros and cons of such tools. Awareness
on the implications of the use of personal data is raised and participants
are exposed to data privacy legislation such as the GDPR.

Strategic Management
ECTS 8

This module will provide the students with a comprehensive framework for
understanding the responsibility and purposes of Strategic Management inside modern-
day business organisations. They will understand how different entities formulate,
implement, and evaluate strategies and how they consider the strategic alternatives
available to them. They will also be provided with a framework and context within
which knowledge acquired across the course may be combined with new strategic-
management techniques and how this may be integrated to outline the future
prospective direction of different businesses.

Human Resource Management


ECTS 8

This module introduces the management of an entity's workforce through


the planning and application of effective human resources policies and
procedures. Current issues faced by companies as well as common
practices are examined. It delves in a variety of topics which will include,
the need for human resources management and its rising professionalism;
human resource planning including job design and analysis; recruitment
and selection; motivation and compensation; performance management;
employee development; and employee relations.

Research Project
ECTS 12

This module is intended to offer students the opportunity of working on


a supervised research project and to integrate and/or develop aspect/s of
their previous learning experience throughout the preceding modules.
Students will be asked to come up with a research proposal on a, possibly
innovative, business idea to fill in a gap in the market resulting from daily
challenges they come across either in their personal or work
environments. Eco friendly ideas and those making use of alternative
energy will be encouraged though not a must.
Once the submitted idea is approved students will have to plan, design
and research, the business’ operations, marketing strategies, a five-year
financial plan as well as its human resource strategy.
During both the research stage as well as the drafting of the long essay,
students will be in continuous touch with their tutor/s who will assist
them throughout the whole project’s cycle.
