1. Check Hydrostatic Testing has been satisfactorily Completed and recorded.

2. Flushing Drainage of Lines completed and accepted.


3. Check that Correct Bolts and Gaskets installed at all Mechanical Joints.
4. Check that All Vents and Drains are correctly installed.
5. Check that all temporary Vents and drains comply with Piping Specification.
6. Check that All Process Blinds and Spades have been correctly installed as indicated on the P & ID
7. Check that Spectacle Blinds are in the correct 'Flow' position.
8. Check that all Pipe cleaning, and Pickling has been satisfactorily completed and recorded.
9. Check that Control Valves have been installed in the correct 'Flow' position.
10. Check that specified Block valves have locking devices correctly installed.
11. Check that all Valves are functioning properly and that spindles have been coated with 'Copa-
Slip' or equivalent where specified.
12. Check that chain wheels for specified Valves have been correctly installed.
13. Check that extended spindles required for specified Valves have been installed.
14. Check that Relief Valves have been correctly installed.
15. Check that all Thermowells have been correctly installed.
16. Check that Restriction and Orifice plates have been correctly installed.
17. Check that all Pump Suction Strainers have been correctly installed.
18. Check for correct Flow through Filters& Strainers, Traps, Check Valves, and Globe Valves.
19. 19 Check that all Gags have been removed from Spring loaded Pipe supports, and Expansion
Bellows.
20. 20 Check that all Pipe Seals have been correctly fitted.
21. 21 Lines Released for Painting
22. 22 Heat Tracing Superintendent Informed Lines released for painting.
23. 23 Insulation Superintendent informed Lines released for painting.

Reinstatement in piping
Inspection of completed construction activity before handover to pre-commission
inspection activity usually contains these major points to satisfy

1. All piping components are installed or re-installed in their respective locations as shown in the P&ID. (i.e.:
Piping, removable pipe spools, valves, vents, drains, spectacle plates, blinds, flange spacers, etc)

2. All in-line equipment & Instruments are installed or re-installed in the respective locations as shown in the
P&ID. (i.e.: Strainer, meter tube, straightening vanes, flow meter, orifice fitting, Pressure Indicators,
Temperature, Temperature Indicators, sample probes, etc)

3. Pressure and temperature gauges installed are of the same range as shown in the P&ID.
4. Test plug to be seal welded. (if required)

5. Jack screw bolts installed in flange with spectacle plates. (NOTE : Not required if flange spreaders are
supplied.)

6. All nuts and bolts of flange connections are fully engaged.

7. Gasket material shall be verified by visually with piping specification on reinstated flange

8. Bolt and Nut material shall be verified by visually with piping specification on reinstated flange

9. Travel stops of spring supports are removed (If required)

10 The pipe shall not be used to support other pipes and structures without an appropriate analysis.

11. Access is provided for equipment regularly operated or maintained or operated in an emergency, such as
valve hand wheels, instrumentation, controls, and their associated manifolds.

12. Safety yellow-and-black stripes are painted on obstructions that present bump hazards. (Concrete supports
at the base of stairways or ladders, passageway pinch points, unguarded edges, tripping hazards).

13. Lifting equipment and devices shall be painted safety yellow and clearly marked with the rated capacity of
the equipment in metric tons.
