Habitat and Ecology (see Appendix for additional information)
This is a tree to 30 m tall in primary and secondary forests, along watercourses (Fern 2020). It is a
pioneer species.

Systems:  Terrestrial

Use and Trade

The species is suspected to produce edible fruit like others in it's genus. Also different parts of the plants
confer different medicinal properties (De Filipps et al. 2004). The species produces a light wood which is
used for low value items such as matches and boxes and historically rafts. It is also considered a good
source of pulp for cellulose (Lorenzi 2002). The species is also planted for woodland development and
canopy cover (Huxley 1992).

Threats
There are no major threats to the species.
